The best definition is widely quoted in an author I find myself thinking of more and more these days, Tom #Clancy: at odd points, Jack Ryan is defined as "a good man in a storm". That, of course, includes providing for the fact storms occur.(/)

MORAL courage, as in "trying to be objective", has been noticeably absent. I love strong opinions, provided that one can agree to be as fact based as it's possible and proves to have a coherent moral compass. I have an example of that: (/)

People who liberally say "Covid's #UK variant" can't be forced with drill and pliers to say "China Virus". I find that beneath contempt. Marvin Udall said it best: (/)

If authority changes the rules as it goes, in its favor, without offering anything in atonement, it's bad. Two things about the Covid saga enraged me: no one paid for having been caught with our collective pants down after #SARS2003 is the first. (/)

The second, and MORE important, is that authorities do not deem fit to say what will happen after COVID has gone. I for one would follow nonsensical injunctions more gladly if I had a firm injunction in the law that unless all liberties are restored, there will be "things".(/)

The obvious one would be listing the present political class, and have them all interdicted from any political and/or public company posting for life if it doesn't happen. Of course, that would include all postings in regulated entities. No Citadel for you guys.(/)

Will it happen? Hell no. Hence, both Pippa and Harald would put me well into the "rogue" category. I will do my utmost to undermine any rule I can demonstrate it is an idiocy. (/)

Now where is that a problem? obvious. There were many on the books already BEFORE Covid. but the Faustian pact was "we are an abusive sorry lot but we will take responsibility if things go south". Guess what.
