I won't sugar coat this...this is a disaster.

If Nov. was Pearl Harbor...we got hit again and lost all carriers.

Our retaliatory options are limited and better employed as shields than swords

But America has survived worse. Here's how we will survive this

#MAGA #2A

1/MANY
First, just the facts about situation.

1: Very soon, Democrats will have (narrow) unified political control of all 3 branches of government and can wreck US.

2: Our country is in an awful position financially due to the Obama spending during the good times.

2/MANY
3: They will greatly escalate "cancellation," likely creating blacklists of people like us.

4: They will use the full force and power of Gov't against us (look up AFP vs Harris), they've been rationalizing it 4 years.

3/MANY
5: They will try to use their current political advantage to stack the deck in future elections and policy fights.... likely trying to grant statehood to DC and Puerto Rico to explicitly help them in future elections.

Court packing is BACK on the agenda.

4/MANY
6: A lot of Republicans and conservatives will try to blame this on their enemies in the party. Populists will blame libertarians and vice versa.

THAT IS A MISTAKE. A civil war would doom us all and we need every hand on deck. YES, THIS MEANS YOU!

5/MANY
7: The left isn't going to stop now that they're ahead...they aren't going to chill out...they're going to escalate.

8: They will come for you, personally.

9: They will come for what you care about, personally.

10: You are now the frontline.

6/MANY
What We Can Do Now:

First off, we lost "legally" and that legal remedies are unlikely to change that.

Reforming mail-in voting, creating voter ID, and demanding reforms are long term strategies for state level, but they're NOT the priority right now.

7/MANY
Nimitz didn't go for the knock out blow against Japan in January 1942. We have to degrade the foe's capacity to fight FIRST and protect our own while we mobilize.

THAT is the priority! There's no one great win that can undo this.

8/MANY
So first thing we do is mobilize fully against the Democrat's socialist agenda...and make them pay the maximum possible political price to enact it. WARTIME CONSERVATISM!

This will largely be a legal & political fight for those in DC. Its a DELAYING action.

9/MANY
Second, we need to look at why we lost...honestly and WITHOUT blame.

Republicans have seen 3 appointed senators serve short tenures because they lost re-election very recently... Luther Strange, Martha McSally (who actually lost twice), and Kelly Loeffler (GA).

10/MANY
We will be needing better candidates who can win in the future...and better vetting. All we can do there is give our candidates the maximum chance to win.

11/ MANY
Third, we need to look towards 2022.

Georgia will be one of 8 states on2022 Senate battlefield in a midterm cycle....4 of these will be Dem seats we can win NH, NV, AZ & GA. Another will be 4 Republican seats: NC, PA, WI, FL we must defend...and maybe 2 more (IA, OH).
12/ MANY
There's only going to be around 10 seats needed 2 regain the House majority for GOP.

State races are right around the corner in places like Virginia that are potentially VERY winnable.

These campaigns start NOW...and are only 2nd in importance to delaying actions.

13/ MANY
Fourth, we need to CRUSH DEFEATISM.

For FAR to long has the right tolerated defeatism. You've heard it, the "we can't get votes from that neighborhood" and "if only we had the electorate of 20 years ago."

That ENDS NOW!

14/MANY
President Trump proved that many more people are open to our message then the left wants to think. We need to reach out to ALL of them, if only to correct the caricature they have been indoctrinated with about us.

15/ MANY
Our defeat is only foreordained if we surrender...so just like the US and Britain in the Second World War....we must make a commitment of all Republican factions to one another of NO SEPERATE PEACE with the left.

We fight on until THEY unconditionally surrender!

16/MANY
Fifth, WE NEED YOU! Get off the couch and get into your local party. Consider running for office. And do whatever you can to EXPAND OUR COALITION.

NO MORE sitting elections out people. No more tolerance of anyone telling us to do that.

17/ MANY
Why We Will Win:

In January 1942, the situation looked incredibly bleak. The Japanese navy reigned almost supreme and their commanders were battle hardened and component military leaders.

The situation today for us is bad, but it MAY look worse then it is.

18/MANY
1: The foe's political coalition is structurally unsound. We think of the Libs as a united bloc, but this is far from the truth.

They are bound only by hatred of President Trump, so parts of it can be subverted and other parts have divergent interests.

19/MANY
Their narrow majority means they need EVERYONE on their side...including the crazy people...and a lot of Democrats find AOC as repellant as you do.

Those cracks can be exploited and their commitment to the Dems questioned, this is what Trump did in 2016 to win.

20/MANY
That delaying action...much like that waged by the US Pacific fleet throughout 1942 can, at the very least, make them burn every last ounce of political capital they have...make them turn on one another fighting for the fixed pie they think the economy is.

21/Many
It should only take a push to set them into a civil war...right now only hatred of Trump holds their coalition together.

Expose the cracks in their party's façade!

22/MANY
2: The foe's leadership is ancient and incompetent.

Biden is 78, Pelosi is 80, and Schumer is 70. They are not nearly as competent at governing as Yamamoto was at naval warfare...and their own side knows it.

23/MANY
Historically, progressive movements REGUARLY indulge in infighting. And that was before they invented cancel culture.

So spend some time with the Twitter "Search" box and find all the times the Libs broke their stupid rules...then point it out.

24/MANY
3: The COVID crisis will likely be used as an excuse to enact absolutely ridiculous and pointless measures by the Democrats which most Americans will loathe...like Cuomo is doing in NY today.

This WILL change minds.

25/MANY
4: The media, our great foe, is weakening. Hatred of President Trump WAS their business model...and attacking his every sentence was all that allowed them to pay their bills. We must starve the media of content by NOT being easy to attack.

26/MANY
The great truth of politics is that the best way to beat Libs is to BE BORING so they never know how dire their situation is until we spring the trap.

This works WAY more then you probably think it does.

27/MANY
5: US Politics is inherently like a pendulum....it tends to swing back and forth in favor of whoever is out of power. History is on our side now.

As General MacArthur once said, we shall return.

28/MANY
In summary, Keep The Faith, Own The Libs, And Get Organized.

If the situation was hopeless, they wouldn't be trying to censor us now would they?

This thread has really really lowered my already low expectations for academic political scientists.
My point is that Germany TRIED a "center consensus" candidate, Hindenburg, to stop the Nazis from taking over in a multiparty system.

We KNOW that didn't work...and plenty of examples exist of coalition systems empowering extremists both left-and right Image
The response from academics was to say that I wasn't being fair to them and that I was wrong for some reason they refused to specify. ImageImage

This is an especially stupid argument...

There's a bunch of things wrong here, let's go point by point.

First off, the gun homicide rate in US is lowest in states with highest gun ownership. Image
Interestingly enough, Wyoming has a murder rate the same as right across the border in more gun-controlled Canada...about a third of the US as a whole.

BC factors giving Canada a low murder rate give Wyoming a low murder rate...and those don't include lower gun ownership.
Similarly, there are many US states that combine very low firearm ownership with very high murder rates.

The highest "state" murder rate in the country is that of Washington, DC, which has a murder rate of 21.8, more than twenty times that of Wyoming

Progressives and their media friends are flat out lying to you about mail in voting.

What they are doing is an EXCEEDINGLY dangerous attempt to delegitimize the 2020 election if/when they lose it.

#USPSsabotage #USPS #MailInVoting #MailInBallots

1/16
First off, mail in voting so far this year has...indisputably...been a disaster.

The NY Congressional race between Maloney and Patel makes this clear.

TWENTY PERCENT of ballots were tossed in that race. TWENTY PERCENT!

queenseagle.com/all/2020/7/17/…

Same thing happened in NJ

2/16 ImageImage
It took SIX WEEKS to declare a victor and (more) progressive candidate refused to concede...went on MSNBC and said “voter suppression is a real thing" in the Dem party.

This happened because #USPS got overwhelemed in a fairly low turnout race relative to general election.

This is just flat out wrong and the Washington Post should be ashamed.

washingtonpost.com/national/coron…

If I have spare time, I'll write a short novel about all the ways it's wrong.

Reporters continually show their ignorance when they pick a single metric & focus on a single state.
Florida is being treated badly because they have good Sunshine Laws. Other states are FAR worse (like New York and New Jersey), but just aren't publishing the data in a comprehensive format.
For example, here's WaPo mad that DeSantis said the models were wrong about everything.

Here's the WaPo admitting that the models were wrong.

So their position seems to be, "only we can say the models were wrong, even though they're wrong."

Ok, let's explain why the US is in a good position to deal with #WuhanCoronavirus relative to single payer systems thanks to capitalism relative to the Euro healthcare systems we constantly get lied to about.

1/7
The US has about 4 to 6 times as many ICU beds per capita as the UK.

The UK, Italy, and other public systems have almost no surge capacity...as their only means of controlling costs is care rationing.

2/7
The UK has regular "winter crises" from the freaking flu every single year because they increase demand for care, because why not go if its *free* and you already paid for it during taxation?

This is...not how anything in the Senate works. Let's go through it.

Filibuster: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver via @YouTube
First off, there were ABSOLUTELY Dutch pirates...

They were actually pretty famous, known as the Sea Beggars.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geuzen
It IS true that the Senate’s arcane rules have never been more popular.

The Senate’s 44 standing rules, usually obscured by precedents or made irrelevant by routine waivers, do actually matter.

Of these, the Fillibuster is probably less significant than debate time use.
