More tea about @PatRehnUCP and his 'work' in the constituency he doesn't even reside in: early Nov he posted about a visit to local LTC, without a mask (LTC had a mandatory mask policy at time) and proceeded to meet with the OLDEST person there, face to face.
#ableg #FiretheUCP
The post was deleted after he started catching shit for disregarding the mandatory mask rule, putting seniors at risk. Source tells me the workers were likely very hesitant to say anything as he apparently has been known to have a short temper and has yelled at other constituents
Recently the town wrote an open letter outlying his behaviour and why he has failed to serve as their MLA - not a suprise to see him disregard others safety and flagrantly disregard mandatory rules meant to protect a very vulnerable population, and then post about it.
Note - images have been redacted for privacy/source protection. No date is noted in the pictures but source confirmed this was on November 6th

'This whole thing STINKS' - Mayor Craig Snodgrass from the @TownOfHighRiver talking about the @UCPCaucus decision to recisnd the 1976 coal policy without consultation with #Albertans last night in council meeting.

Thread!
#WaterNotCoal #StopGrassyMountain #ableg #UCPcorruption Image
He also discussed the lack of transparency, environmental concerns, royalties, etc. The council then unanimously voted to send a letter to @jkenney requesting the IMMEDIATE reinstatement of the coal policy and which was rescinded on June 1 , 2020. Image
Further more, requesting that the Government Of Alberta
begin public consultation with Indigenous groups, Environmental Groups and all Albertans on any proposed revisions or replacement of this policy.
THANK YOU Mayor and council of @TownOfHighRiver!

I took a drive down the 22 yesterday to check out a #monolith that popped up in the Crowsnest Pass area! Went to investigate, left realizing the @UCPCaucus is likely involved, in a bad way, as usual

If you haven't driven down the 22, it is gorgeous - rolling foothills, streams cutting through picturesque ranch land, and a rugged mountain landscape background. Near Maycroft provincial park, right near the Crowsnest pass is where this thing stands, approx. 12 feet tall.
It sounds like the Tin Man from Oz when you knock on it and looks to be made of shiny sheet metal. Seems to be mounted firmly into the ground, with no visible supports

Why am I (We) so mad about Kenney and the UCP? My friends and family ask me this all the time. Reflection: its not just the atrocious cuts and wars on our health (among too many other things to list), its much more than that.
Long thread, sorry!

I remember growing up, in #Calgary, born in early 80's, and being raised to be Canadian - you know: be friendly and kind, look out for others, be considerate, understanding, and thoughtful. Golden rule, if you can't say something nice.. etc.
And it seemed good. #Politics were snarky but, as far as I recall, it was still Canadian - with respect and decent dignity to the other side. It seemed like we had a certain pride to have our own brand of politics, Canadian style politics. It wasn't US attack-style politics.

Does the #UCP show signs of facism? Let's discuss

Posted in ww2 and holocaust museums, are warnings from the past. Warnings about what brave soldiers and citizens fought against and how those governments were able to get into power. Long thread, sorry!
#abpoli #ableg
Where do the UCP sit in regards to these warnings signs?

1. Rampant Nationalism : in this case its more 'provincialism'. This idea that alberta only. And the fear mongering to supporters the UCP have duped about everyone is against us (against alberta). Not true.
Without federal funds during covid, the UCP wouldn't have been able to pay their own staff (they used wage subsidy), not to mention ed funding, covid funding, CERB for 25% of albertans (highest in the country btw)

Why do I run this anti-UCP account?

To be honest, the answer is: I wish I didn't have to! I'm busy! I have a job, kids, standard life stress, pandemic stress, etc. like everyone else out there, you are living your life the best you can in the circumstances you find you're in
The #UCP, with their callousness, and uncaring attitude towards Albertans has FORCED me to make a stand. To spend time out of my day to try and expose and show others the harm they are doing to us as Albertans, and truthfully, to Canada as well
I dont want to so this. I'd rather spend time with family, working, living! But this government is making me and others take hard looks at them and exposing them for what they really are. Now, the #UCP likely wish this wasn't the case. I've never in my life seen so much activism
