Good morningggg .

Let’s get straight into it, court is full today oo - here’s why
1. A Dr from Reddington hospital is FINALLY testifying today
2. Legal counsel to the Nigerian Army is expected in court today following Justice Okuwobi’s ultimatum to appear in 7 days. #EndSARS
Here’s a list of petitioners expected to testify today. Peep # 1 & 2 🙃 #ENDSARS
The first witness is Babajide Lawsona trauma surgeon from Reddington hospital who was on call on the night of October 20th, he’s here withhold legal counsel who start cross examination leading in evidence. #ENDSARS
Babajide : ”On the night of the 20th, I went to our Lekki office to offer assistance as a number of victims were brought in, some were later transfer to our VI branch. I saw about 6 patients whose injuries varied”.

#ENDSARS
Petitioners counsel Olumide Fusika calls for medical reports from evidence to see if he signed of any, Babajide states that he didn’t but was familiar with the cases. #ENDSARS
Fusika points out that his client Samuel Ashola who was definitely treated at Reddington that night doesn’t have medical records to prove so and for this reason his evidence was not exhaustive.

** There might be more people we don’t even know about?? #ENDSARS
Another petitioners counsel, Adesina Ogunlana takes over cross examination, he asks Dr Babajide for the whereabouts of the billets retrieved from his client.

“My client has made several requests to get the bullet but to no avail”

#ENDSARS
Cross examination continues with Lucky Philemons’ legal counsel, he’s the young man whose leg was amputated following his injuries on the night of October 20th. #ENDSARS

Another doctor and colleague of Babajide will be in court to testify.

#ENDSARS
Next up is the Nigerian Army, S.N Agweh the legal counsel present of their behalf says he’s not here to represent them but in fact deliver a message from Kehinde A.T SAN in response to the ultimatum given. #ENDSARS
He explains that the team of lawyers directive was to represent the army from October 28th to November based on the summons sent to the Army. At the time, said cases were not before panel and subsequent summons had not being brought to the army for representation. #ENDSARS
Fusika quickly jumps in to give his response to the letter, “The case against the Nigerian Army ha snot been terminated, so if they decide not to send any legal representation that’s their decision” #ENDSARS
Justice Okuwobi: “If the Military refuses to appear there is nothing the panel can do..”

Listen to Fusika and Ogunlana’s reactions here 👇🏾 #ENDSARS
After much back & forth Justice Okuwobi rules that all 5 petitions slated for today involving the Nigerian Military be adjourned to February 22, 2021 and fresh summons be sent to officers named as respondents in these cases. #ENDSARS
Following the ruling, petitions 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 are all adjourned to February 27, 2021. #ENDSARS
This takes us right to the 8th petitioner, Gloria Eze vs the Nigerian Police Force represented by legal counsel, John Nwokwu. Continuing her testimony from previous hearing she states that she hired a lawyer because she needed 2nd surgery. #ENDSARS
She wants justice for the ill treatment done on her by Mr. Ayeni of Trinity Police Station, Ajegunle. She also pleads with the panel to grant her a favorable response so she can get the right treatment she needs. #ENDSARS
Cross examination is taken over by Police legal counsel, Eze who requests for a witness summons to be sent to officer Ayeni. Justice Okuwobi grants this and adjourns this case to February 13, 2021. #ENDSARS
Police counsel requests for witness summons be sent to officer Ayeni.

Further hearing in the last 2 petitions involving Babatunde Taiwo vs FSARS & Patrick Ocheme vs IG of police Response Team (IRT) is adjourned to February 13, 2021. #ENDSARS

See you next Tuesday ✌🏾
