Just read the @sfchronicle article by @RepAdamSchiff & @RepSpeier. First, during decades in Congress, these esteemed politicians have never said a single word about illegal occupation of 20% of #Azerbaijan’s lands by #Armenia & 1 million forcibly displaced #Azerbaijanis. 1/13

Invasion, total ethnic cleansing & nearly 30-year-long occupation of #Azerbaijan’s sovereign territory by #Armenia was well-documented, incl. by @UN Security Council resolutions and successive US administrations, starting with #Clinton Administration. 2/13

Brutal massacres against #Azerbaijani civilian population by Armenian troops, incl. the #Khojaly Genocide of 1992, which @HRW called the #largest massacre in the conflict#, are also well documented. 3/13

#CulturalGenocide by #Armenia against #Azerbaijani heritage in occupied #Qarabagh, incl. destruction of 63 out of 67 #mosques and turning many of them into barns for pigs and cows, is also well documented. 4/13

Again, not a single word ever from either @RepAdamSchiff or @RepSpeier re the internationally & US-condemned occupation of #Azerbaijan’s lands by #Armenia, atrocities committed by Armenian troops, violation of basic human rights of 1 million forcibly displaced #Azerbaijanis. 5/13

Repeated provocations & warmongering by #Armenia’s leadership, such as illegal settlements, July 2020 border attacks or statements “New war for new territories”, which destroyed peace talks and caused the #44DayWar, are also well documented. 6/13

The murder of 100 #Azerbaijani civilians, including 11 little #children, by targeted #Armenian missile attacks on major Azerbaijani cities outside of war zone during #44DayWar, are also well documented, inc. by @HRW & @Amnesty. 7/13

#Armenia’s involvement of #terrorists from #MiddleEast as well as #islamophobic rightwing radicals from Europe in its military operations in #Qarabagh is also well documented. 8/13 politicstoday.org/mercenaries-in…

So why should the rights of 150,000 Armenians (official number, in reality no more than 65,000 during last decades) in Upper #Qarabagh matter more than the rights of 1 million forcibly displaced #Azerbaijanis? Just because #Armenia has a wealthy diaspora in #California? 9/13

Also why should US ignore, as suggested by esteemed Congresspeople, all these Armenian #warcrimes, flagrant violations of basic human rights of 1 million displaced Azerbaijanis & international law, and support #Armenia? Again, just because it has a wealthy diaspora in CA? 10/13

Now that there are new realities on the ground, there is only 1 alternative to normalization of #Azerbaijan-#Armenia relations & #Azerbaijani-#Armenian peaceful coexistence in #Qarabagh under full sovereignty of Azerbaijan. Alternative is another bloody war. 11/13

The US foreign policy has always been at its best, especially in the South #Caucasus, when it did not allow domestic special interest groups, driven by ethnocentric agendas detrimental to US national interests, to influence its decision-making. The same is true now. 12/13

#Armenian lobby, the radical maximalist #nationalism of which has pushed #Armenia to war, should not be permitted to have any say in US foreign policy. 13/13
