Justice MR Shah: Gujarat High Court is my karmabhoomi where I practised for approximately 22 years as a lawyer and served as a judge for 14 years. I feel proud to be hailing from Gujarat High Court and Gujarat.
Justice MR Shah: #GujaratHighCourt has always stood for the independence of the judiciary and for protection of human rights whenever required... even in the dark days of Emergency, Judges of this court stood for the protection of human rights and independence of the judiciary.
Basic Structure comprises of independence of judiciary and also comprises of separation of powers. Governance and law making should be left to those elected by the People: Law Minister @rsprasad

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta: Today is also a very memorable and historical day since the honourable Prime Minister and ... vibrant leadership, our great nation has already commenced its journey to become, the Vishwaguru has kindly consented to be among us.
SG Mehta: The Executive also has a pivotal role in the journey of success of any judicial institution and that role is in terms of infrastructural and financial power.
SG Mehta: In the year 2000, we only had 160 odd buildings housing the district judges and other subordinate courts. Between 2002-2004 only, the number of court buildings has increased to 294 and the journey continues with the same speed till date.
SG Tushar Mehta: We hope trust and pray that this great institution (Gujarat High Court) would achieve more milestones and we shall request our beloved Prime Minister to commemorate another step that is on the occasion when this institution completes its 75 years.

Justice SS Shinde to a party in person: “Whenever you are making submission, your form is supposed to be polite. Please don’t think that if you are on VC, you can use any language or argue in any manner!”
Shinde’s statements came after the party in person respondent kept interrupting the Court while the Court was putting questions to him.

The party was seeking time to substantiate his arguments with judgments and seeking for reliefs in the petitioner’s plea.
Justice Pitale retorted: You are seeking reliefs of further investigation in the petitioner’s case for quashing of proceedings. How is that possible?

Maratha Reservation: Hearing commences before Constitution Bench.

Mukul Rohatgi tells court volumes of documents are being printed and it will take 2 weeks. Rohatgi asks court to fix the matter in 1st week of March to fix a date considering physical hearing might commence then.
Court says it will keep the matter after 3 -4 weeks and begin hearing then as physical hearing will start by then.
