Got interested in some Pinterest today $PINS (add), along with $PYPL (new)

Almost pulled the trigger on $DDOG (new), $RDFN (new) $SE (add) but reminded myself not to be hero all in one day.
The ones I'm 👀 closely

Portfolio (positions to add to) : $DOCU $ETSY $MELI $TDOC $GDRX $TTD $BABA $CRWD $FVRR $MTCH $NET $PTON $ROKU $SHOP $SQ $TWLO $U $ZM

Watchlist : $ADYEY $CHWY $CRNC $BL $COUP $HUBS $FTCH $PDD $PLTR $SNOW
$PINS : You know the drill. That rare positive Social network, with 450M users with shopping/ideas intent, the ideal demographic for advertisers. International APRU has a long way to go. Lot of useful features being introduced both for Users and Advertisers.
Re-opening should be good for them on User side (with ppl planning for all those parties, weddings and events...) and Brands/Advertisers opening their wallets further.

Prev buys : $20 and $11 (from March-2020)
$PYPL : 350M users with engagement increasing, E-Commerce tailwind, Super-App optionality, highly profitable...

I don't think Mgmt hesitates to do some aggressive buybacks.. Anyway I like to mix my buys between profitable & un-profitable Co's (while still sticking to quality).
Market participants were getting too far down the rabbit hole

Quality/Predictability of Cash Flows
⬇️
Reported Earnings
⬇️
Recurring Revenues but currently unprofitable
⬇️
Promise of Rev growth (incl SPACmania, leaving aside few good ones)
⬇️
No Revenues, but hey great story!
So it's good for a Market reset, things to cool down, and remind ppl that Market is not a one-way/quick lottery ticket.
Based on the experience from GFC, Fall 2011, Jan/Feb 2016, 4Q-2018, Mar-2020, personally I'm OK with days like these (and look forward to once in a while).

Of course, your Portfolio is tanking, but you're also starting to get some great opportunities....
✔️If you have some cash (w/o having to sell any existing good positions)

✔️Have a solid list of Co's you already researched and want to buy (both from existing holdings and new ones from Watchlist)
That awkward dance you have to do on days like these between

✔️Defense (not sell good Co's, controlling your emotions, buying but slowly)

and

✔️Offense (taking advantage of lower prices in great Co's, looking past whatever the latest gloom/doom is)
...while not knowing what tomorrow, or the next few wks/months will bring is the real challenge and also the fun of being a long-term investor.

(None of this is advice to anyone)

Good Luck out there!

(Me, this morning)

"OK, Mr. Market. If you're going to continue to be in this bad mood, just take my money and give me some more of the stocks I want".

$PTON (add, at $94.40)
$PLTR (new, at $21.90)
$TTD (add, at $582)
If the carnage continued this afternoon, it was going to be one more from $CHWY $GDRX $DDOG $RDFN $U but maybe next week, along with any opportunistic adds into my other favs like $PINS $ETSY $MELI $SE $DOCU $TDOC $CRWD $NET $FVRR $ROKU $SHOP $SQ $TWLO $ZM.
$PTON : Extreme strength in both the Product adoption (high NPS) along with Connected Fitness. Plenty of runway (even after COVID), along with International expansion. Room for lot more products while making the Ecosystem even more attractive. Great growth and Financials.

Added itsy bitsy amount of $ETSY today. Also $TTD (add), $NET (add) and $FVRR (new). Thesis in thread below.⬇️
If Mr.Market continues his cranky mood over the next few wks, below are what I'm 👀

Holdings (to add to) : $MELI $PINS $FB $CRM $SHOP $SQ $CRWD $TDOC $GDRX $ROKU $DOCU $TWLO $ZM

Watchlist : $CHWY $PYPL $RDFN $DDOG $SNOW $PLTR $COUP $BL $HUBS
Quick simple thesis on these

$ETSY : Attracted tons of sellers and buyers to the Platform due to COVID (which would have taken years otherwise, masks helped lowering the CAC) , most of them will stick around for years. Financial improved a lot. Outlook is good.

It's just an incredible feeling of being invested in businesses that are firing on all cylinders operationally & financially.

Few exs : $ZM $MELI $SE $ETSY $SQ $PINS $ROKU $CRWD $PTON $TDOC $TWLO (long all).

Favs in Watchlist👀 $FVRR $CHWY $DDOG $PYPL $PDD
You can be skeptical of their stock run-ups or concerned about their current valuations, but you cannot take away their incredible Business performances over the last year.
It's fair to be concerned about their Valuations, but even if growth slows down compared the last few Qtrs (expected in many cases), these Business are on a different trajectory compare to pre-COVID.

My contribution to #FinTwit trivia.

The Alphabet soup of single letter ticker symbols on American Exchanges.

How many of these can you guess correctly? My score was only 12 out of 21. Not a single one that was down today.😀

$TDOC (add)
$U (add)
$AFRM (new)

Tempting 👀 $RDFN $PLTR $SNOW $FB* $NVCR* $ROKU* $TWLO* $MELI* (portfolio positions*)

Other interesting ones (based on current prices) that I'm still learning about $NCNO $FROG $FUBO $SKLZ
Here are few of my quick personal guidelines for Volatility (as a net long-term buyer of good businesses with decades left)

✔️Once you get Ben Graham's Mr. Market analogy into your head, Volatility will stop surprising/bothering you.
✔️ You can't predict it, but knowing that it'll show up sometime, you can make your Portfolio resilient enough to withstand any short-term shocks.

✔️ Liquidity in great Co's + Volatility induced low prices : That's not something to complain about.
