It's not about what is legal and what is illegal. Everything that is 'legal' is not morally right and everything that is illegal is not morally wrong
It's about creating a system that fools thousands of young boys and girls to take up BHMS only to realize that there is little or no market for it when they finish the course
Many of these homeopathy colleges are owned and run by politicians or their cronies basically to fleece young people of money
Once these people finish BHMS, they realize there is no scope for the same in real world
Hence now there is a petition to allow AYUSH people to practice modern medicine.
If AYUSH was so effective why do BHMS/BAMS want the government to allow them to practice modern medicine?
If AYUSH is so effective why don't the top rankers take up BHMS/BAMS instead of taking up MBBS ?
If AYUSH is so effective why don't politicians get treated in such institutions instead of getting admitted to AIIMS or Medanta ?
The truth is the entire system of AYUSH is created in part to allow politicians to keep running a cash cow called private and homeopathic medical colleges to fleece thousands of families of their hard-earned money
If you are a young person reading this- DON'T TAKE UP BHMS , BAMS, BUMS etc. Wait for a few years, try harder and get into MBBS if you wish to become a real doctor. Else take up something else. Anyways medicine in India (modern or not) is over-rated
If nobody takes up these courses these colleges will die a natural death. That's the best solution for now.

This thread will tell you how Quackery works...
Step 1: Quacks understand the market needs. If patients find oncology treatment painful and expensive, they will 'create' a product for cancer. Quacks understand entrepreneurship
Step 2: Once the "area of need" is identified, quack delivers a product that is relatively cost-effective (and largely ineffective). It could be a mixture of "herbs", "natural product", some fancy-sounding "diet"

Karyotype must be offered to all women presenting with Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI)
There is no age cut-off per se for ordering a karyotype in women with POI. In a study, more than 30% of women with abnormal karyotype were more than 30 years of age!
Additionally, when you order a karyotype in women, it is also imperative to order FISH to look for Cryptic Y chromosome material

Not sure who needs to hear this, but this is a strong personal view of mine. Consider this as a #Rant. Contd...
If you are a student of any sort and born after the 1980's , not having basic computer and technology skills is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Perhaps those born before the millennial generation can be excused since some skills are difficult to acquire after a certain age and need a certain background

Is your patient having persistently high TSH , despite increasing the dose of your thyroid medications ? The patient on the other hand is asymptomatic and the T4/Free T4 values are always normal. Contd..
High TSH despite adequate LT4 replacement is a common clinical issue that we deal with in Endocrinology and it is an area of several #ClinicalPearl threads
However today we focus on one such issue on possible reason for the problem. The reason is what is called a Heterophile antibody
