On January 1st 2012 fuel subsidy was removed and for me it was the best News ever! Finally, the govt was doing something right!
My support for the removal of subsidy was the reason I never joined #OccupyNigeria protest. I saluted the Nigerians that did #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
I saluted the Nigerians that did, because for the first time, I saw Nigerians uniting and making demands like I have never seen before except during the 1993 elections #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
I watched aghast as citizens were attacked and killed by security agents across the Nation and finally the reduction and compromise reached by government and NLC and for me it was all heartbreaking. #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Heartbreaking that the government did not know how to deal with citizens' demands and resorted to violence against citizens it was meant to protect and also heartbreaking that fuel subsidy was allowed to continue #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Many argued then that the people in government will loot the money that would have been used to pay the subsidy and I said to them. Why don't we fight the corruption and ensure the money isn't looted? Why fight against subsidy removal? #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
We have severally in this country done things based on the corruption of the people in charge. We cannot continue like this #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Why is petrol subsidised? Of what use is Petroleum subsidy? Diesel that is used commercially is not subsidised. You subsidise luxury and do not subsidise the one with the more economic impact? #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Diesel is what is used in industries, used by big vehicles for transporting goods around the country. Yet it is not subsidised. #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Shady subsidy are paid. We saw the court cases of many subsidy paid for fuel that were never brought to the country. Fuel meant for Nigeria consumption taken to neighbouring countries at our expense #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
The billions that are being paid for fuel subsidy that a person living in a remote village is not benefitting from should be used for infrastructural development that will benefit that person #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Why waste money on those who can get by? Government is subsidising petrol for my cars while someone in need of 5k medical help cannot get it. What kind of injustice is that? #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Nigeria is in a mess. We have gone past red. We are borrowing money to service debts. Our oil revenue is not enough to pay salaries. Cost of governance is increasing and citizens are slowly being killed by both hardship and terrorists.
When Buhari came into power and said he had removed fuel subsidy and capped the price. Nigerians were happy and even when NLC called for protest Nigerians ignored them.
I had issues then with the capping. You cannot remove subsidy and have say in pricing
Who caps the price of diesel or even kerosene? You cannot tell someone how to sell their product without you paying subsidy. You cannot have the same price in lagos and kano without you paying the difference in transportation #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Buhari's government kept lying that it had removed subsidy while paying it on the sly and when they were called out they said it was under recovery.
Buhari's government fraudulently kept paying the subsidy they said they had removed and Nigerians are losing daily #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
There should be total deregulation of that sector. Government should hands off. Sell off refineries even to the NNPC staff. Let them own the business and take care of their salaries and overhead. That way we stop the billions being lost #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Imagine we have a whole parastatal whose business is to set the price at which petrol should be sold. Really? #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
It is at the initial stage of fuel subsidy that prices will go up. Market forces will bring it to where it should be. When govt controlled telecommunications, it was more expensive. They even told us that poor people cannot have mobile phone and we believe #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
Buhari that said that anyone subsidising is a fraud and today he is the fraud in power #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
If the downstream sector is truly deregulated we will save enough money to put us on track. By the time we put in action oronsaye report and properly tax big companies we will face the right direction even if we are not fully on track #BuhariFuelSubsidyScam

People talk as if the North did not vote for Jonathan in 2011. Lets go through the results! The main contenders were PDP ( Jonathan) & CPC (Buhari).
Lets start with Adamawa Jonathan won Adamawa. He got 508,314. Buhari got 344,526 #YouAreNaijaSycophants
In Bauchi Jonathan got 258,204 & Buhari got 1,315, 209.

FCT, Jonathan got 253,444 while Buhari got 131,576
Gombe Jonathan got 290,376 while Buhari got 495,898 #YouAreNaijaSycophants
In 2011 Jigawa gave Jonathan 491,252 votes while giving Buhari 663,994 yet some come here shouting that Jonathan was voted out in 2015 because of his region & religion. When he won, what region was he & what religion was he? #YouAreNaijaSycophants perpetuating #GenerationalHatred
When they marched and said #EnoughIsEnough and Jonathan should be made Acting President in 2010 you called them heroes. When they marched and said fuel subsidy should be removed in 2012 you called them zeroes. #YouAreNaijaSycophants
When they voted Jonathan in 2011 you called them patriots but when they refused to vote Jonathan in 2015 you called them traitors #YouAreNaijaSycophants
Your concern is that the one you like must be praised and you be the ones that continue to have access to give out bad governance #YouAreNaijaSycophants
The moment you are in public space you must learn to not take personal what people say or do to you. Some it might be because of the misinformation they have, some it might be because they want to protect their interests and some it is plain childishness and silliness.
There are things that people will say to me and have said that I wave off. Why?! Because I chose to be in the public space and that made me to take responsibility for whatever is thrown at me.
If I hadn't come to the public space and they did some of the things they do, I probably will break the person's every single bone🤣🤣
Come to my house to talk to me anyhow, you go just see anyhow! The moment I decided to put myself in the public domain I accepted your anyhowness
I married a man not a little boy playing at being a man. My husband is the most practising feminist that I know. We have the same values and that makes things extremely easy. We have mutual respect for each other. He doesn't see me as handler of the house, he sees us as handlers
My husband constantly asks how can he make things easy for me and I also do the same for him. Instead of assigned roles we do that which is our strength.
I don't know how the cooking gas in my house gets replaced. He didn't know when the kids(now young adults) wrote their exams
Before we got married my husband told me I had to be financially independent. He believes a woman must have total control of her life.
Good evening everyone.
I am okay. I refused to run. I walked with my fist high up. @PoliceNG were all shooting at me as I walked away. I came out of the fence they cowardly built around themselves and about 4 of them came at me at the junction throwing bottled water this time 😁
With my fist still raised i told them how shameless they were. One of them cursed me and I gave it back to him. Only one of the bottled water they threw at me touched me slightly and from anyone far away with 4 of them throwing water bottles at me it would have seemed they had me
One of them had pushed me and the raised hand might be what some saw as a slap. No, I wasn't slapped and I refused to cower and I turned and gave them a piece of what I thought of their pathetic selves and if I am going to die, it would be with my fist high up and my mouth open
Our demands were as follows
1.Instruct the Police Commands nationwide to immediately stop harassing, threatening, assaulting, terrorizing, brutalizing and killing citizens who are peacefully protesting to the government to #EndSARSImmediately
2.The Public Trust in the Police is closer to zero than to one at this time and nothing marginal or tentative by the Inspector General will suffice for Citizens.
