My journey from ‘pure Investor brain’ to believer in the #NFT Art movement.

Some ‘moments in time’ that changed my perspective.

1/ A thread👇
2/ I’ve been an NFT Investor for 3 years.

Virtual land, game items, collectibles have always made sense as they were ‘fixed supply’.

So how was art with uncapped supply investible?

@SuperRare graph was showing stable industry growth,

I thought I’d just jump in. Image
3/ I joined a stream with @josiebellini interviewing @ConnieDigital.

Connie dropped this track

We were all like OHHHHHHH 🔥 🔥 🔥

The first time I felt I wanted something NFT Art related.

This was the first artist NFT I ever bought!
4/ I then explored @SuperRare and found @marc0matic

This piece was so cool!

+ Marc was in Melbourne, experimented with AR and New tech.

I showed my wife but at $4k I thought it was too much. So went back to sleep.
5/ Next morning it was still on my mind.

Wife asked if I bought the piece. I said no.

She was like "wtf buy it." So I did.

First time my wife picked an NFT ever! Woo

This one is special for both of us.
6/ Next was @fewocious

I was still ‘investor brain’ focussed back then so DM’d Fewo and worked out a deal for the 3 available pieces and 1 physical.

For $9k total.

Everything changed pretty much right after this vid post-purchase.

7/ Ok, I was starting to get it.

You buy the art you love or maybe you want to invest in.

The artist continues to grow, more people want their art.

Demand pushes prices up. Investor wins, Artist wins, social media wins, everyone wins.

This was starting to get fun!
8/ I went and found @coryvanlew and @MERCPIN who's art was amazing!

I helped guide them a little through the @SuperRare application process and acquired their early pieces.

They're doing amazing and it's awesome to see their art available as NFTs! ImageImage
9/ A good friend from the #Decentraland community, @MetaverseNft helped bring his grandpa’s art, (@Jose_Delbo ), to NFTs.

So I ended up getting this early 1/1.

At the time, @WhaleShark_Pro and @Axie44 had one. So I felt extra cool. Image
10/ Then @niftygateway came in blazing.

I bought some early Slime Sunday, Dota OG Esports, Lushsux, Boss Logic, Beeple.

All artists who’s work I’ve seen before, all art I love and all probably going to be a big part of the #NFT Art movement.
11/ As time has gone by, these purchases have seemed to capture a 'moment in time' that reminds me of the ecosystem back then.

Some I'll probably never sell.

But it's helped me understand more depth to just 'investing'.
12/ After selling 2 of my Fewo pieces I was sad for days haha.

It’s a weird feeling/attachment you have to a piece of code/digital art.

But it’s there.

Made me realize that this rabbit hole turns you from just an investor to a collector.
13/ Being on the sidelines you won’t learn/feel any of this.

But when you invest, collect, communicate and be part of the movement you realise how much of a big deal this is.

A pleasure and honor to be here.

Again, we are at just the beginning.

The Genius behind $B20.

How a ~$3.5M investment turned into a potential 9 figure power play.

Using #crypto, #blockchain and decentralized instruments to make this huge.

1/ Thread, 👇
2/ This isn't a call to buy $B20, just an observation of the story and event behind the project.

And how a 50-100x strategy can look like on a 7 figure investment.

I find it fascinating.
3/ Quick recap,

- @beeple bridges the #NFT knowledge gap by introducing a physical with every NFT purchase on @niftygateway.

- Open editions go wild, (601 x $969 = $582k)
- 21 Single editions go for ~ $2.9M

Total $3.5M, a record BY FAR. (At the time). Image

Alright #NFT Marketplaces.

If you're going to sell NFTs on the primary market, please provide data to support a healthy secondary marketplace.

Some UX pointers from a heavy NFT trader.

1/ 👇
2/ Able to list art by cheapest available so I can keep track of movements.

This tells me sell walls, buy volume, popularity, etc. Image
3/ A sales feed.

Again, more buyer volume data, collector distribution data and growth.

I literally had to make my own site, (cryptoartpulse.com) to keep track. Image

Getting asked "How to invest in #NFT Art".

So I made a mini 3 vid YT series at the end of this thread,

I'm no 'guru' and still figuring this out so take from it what you find valuable.

1/ 👇
2/ NFT Art collecting/Investing is 2-3 years mature already.

This isn't anything new, it's just becoming more known/blowing up now.

.@SuperRare graph since Jan 2019.
3/ There are multiple ways to 'invest'.

- 1/1, (single editions)
- Multi-editions, (open editions, /10 or /3,000 in some cases, etc)
- Digital + Physical
- Crypto Tokens $B20, $WHALE, etc
- Maybe some I've missed

I'm honored a lot of artists are following me.

But I'd like to point something out.

I come from an investor background. A lot of numbers, money, trading, crypto, etc.

Many here did.

Growing Wealth and accelerating industries is what I enjoy.

1/
2/ So maybe as young artists looking for inspiration you may be turned off from my tweets.

Sales, money, profit, crypto, etc I can see how it can get dull.

Art has been a way for me to get involved investing/collecting while at the same time help grow this industry.
3/ I realize art is deep and meaningful and something I'm learning to connect with the deeper into this I go.

Fascinating really.

Just wanted to point this out because I think artists need the right role models/inspirations.

Remember the crazy guy 10 years ago who told you about #Bitcoin?

I'm that guy telling you about the #NFT art market.

Try understand/experiment with it at the very least.

There's something special here.
Yes, there's going to be plenty cash grabs and long-term worthless NFTs disguised as art.

Like influencers.

But if this is the start of an era for digital art ownership, there are some 'BTC at $10.' opportunities here.
What makes me confident is that the NFT art market was born DURING crypto winter. (2018-2019)

It was cold and dead in most of crypto land but the NFT art market was growing at a stable pace.

E.g superrare graph. In my experience slow and steady growth eventually goes parabolic. Image

Not into #NFT Art yet?

"How can an unlimited supply market with billions of gifs and images possibly be investible?"

This was my biggest hurdle till I realized this.

Thread 👇
1/ 2018. People seriously started to collect Art NFTs.

I remember the sentiment in my groups changing from broader NFT topics to everyone but me being art obsessed.

I didn't get it due to the above question.

But decided to look deeper.
2/ I'm not a traditional art collector so I had 100 questions.

What makes art valuable?

There's millions of art work in the world but why is a Picasso or Banksy worth millions?

I watched a couple doco's and it started to click.
