BREAKING—France 🇫🇷 schools to close for at least 3 weeks (remote) under 3rd lockdown. Cases surging. Variants now dominant, especially #B117 variant that has higher infection in kids versus the old strain (higher %increase than adults vs old common). bbc.co.uk/news/world-eur…

3) To be clear—it’s all schools—nurseries, schools, colleges and high schools will close for three weeks in France. And nightly curfew and a ban on going more than 10 kilometres from home.

5) Technically, France has been in exponential increase for over a month. But many don’t recognize exponential growth when it’s at a low level.

Political leaders just don’t understand epidemiology or even basic logarithmic math!!!
6) Surge is also happening in Sweden. The land of govt denialism & mask resistance & pro natural infection dystopia.
7) Why did France 🇫🇷 close schools as the targets measure of the lockdown? Because they’ve seen the data. The data likely shows what Ontario shows. That school class often precede increase in community cases.

That’s why safe reopening is key. Masks for all kids & ventilation.

2) I swear someone was worried about this #P1 issue in British Columbia recently last week somewhere... but sure, that was too “alarmist”. Nothing to worry about they said.

3) Many P1 cases in BC 🇨🇦 were traced to Whistler ski resort area. The problem with that? Whistler is a famous tourism hotspot for holiday travel.

BREAKING—@CDCDirector has now walked back and recanted her controversial statement that vaccinated cannot ever get infected / transmit the virus.

I predicted exactly this was going to happen 2 days ago, the day it aired.
