A new double mutant coronavirus variant has been detected in several Indian states, triggering fear that India’s “second wave” could be more dangerous than the first.👇
Double mutation happens when two mutated variants of a virus come together to form a third variant. The one reported in India is a combination of E484Q and L452R variants.👇
Double mutant variant is a “variant of concern” (VOC) and is being closely monitored.👇
Health experts worry that the double mutation could allow the virus to escape the body’s immune system, making itself more resistant to antibodies. There is also a possibility that it can reinfect patients who have already recovered from Covid-19.👇
In some cases, the virus might also be able to defend itself against the vaccines currently in use.

The virus is getting smarter and faster. It might well change the shape of the pandemic in 2021.👇
Whether a vaccine will still work might depend on how good it is to begin with.Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are about 95% effective.
Even if new variant reduces their efficacy to “90, 80, 70% effective, that is still very, very good & likely to have a major impact on d pandemic.👇
The worry is that if a mutation changes the shape of the spike protein significantly then the antibodies may not be able to recognise and neutralise the virus effectively.
👇
The mutation may aid the virus in evading the neutralising antibodies that both the vaccine and previous infection can produce, though this is still being investigated.👇
Our nation is at an important point in the pandemic – one that will require decisive action by the government and a willingness by the Indian population to prevent a national surge in new cases.👇
With 1,03,558 fresh Covid cases, India has seen the biggest-ever daily surge, taking the tally to 1,25,89,067.
The death count increased to 1,65,101 with 478 new fatalities,👇
Have been reading quite a few articles...
The above is a compilation of the same.

"Oh, yes, that’s one thing which I do regret. Yes, you are right. You see, at that time, what happened was—and I didn’t realise it because I was not watching it closely enough—is that this India Against Corruption movement was heavily propped up by the BJP and the RSS."
"This became clear later on. Unfortunately that movement led indirectly to the rise of Narendra Modi because it destroyed the Congress."
"It helped the BJP and Modi to come to power, who have emerged as far greater threats to the country, to our democracy, to our whole culture, than the Congress could have been, or was."

I hope all Bhakt youngsters who are agitated over #pubgban realise that a 4 hour notice of #lockdown left lakhs of poor on the roads, /1
a 4 hour notice of #Demonetisation left lakhs of small businessmen begging in banks for depositing & then withdrawing their own hard-earned money./2
Modi has used this shock and awe policy to leave #Kashmir in seige & let #Kashmiris bleed.
His "suddennness" of Demonetisation left the economy in shambles far before covid hit our country. /3

What can we expect from a PM who propagated the foolish theory of thali banging in the midst of 12 hour Janta curfew on 22/3 when we had not even started our covid battle. Whose efforts were we applauding at that stage?
What did we bang our thalis for?
What were we celebrating?

Balls of cement powder mixed with flour are kept as bait to get rid of rats in villages. Rats get killed after consuming the balls & the rodent menace is thus checked. Squirrels fall victim to these poisoned balls at times./1
Only difference being, humans are vocal in their empathy when squirrels die....but not when rats are killed...rats writhe in agony too, rats do have babies, pregnant female rats do exist. /2
But can you hold the cement accountable just because you perceive rats as a nuisance while squirrels cute!/3
