An Alberta pastor’s battle with health authorities to ignore COVID-19 guidelines is drawing some troubling figures to a protest this weekend.

We'll be watching on the day to keep you updated on who is on the scene, but here are a few of the figures who have indicated they might be stopping by:

Steven Lane is a founder of the Urban Infidels, a faux-biker hate group he started after leaving the Soldiers of Odin. A regular attendee of Alberta’s protests, he has repeatedly made racist and violent statements online ahead of time. UI is staunchly anti-Muslim.

Anti-LGBTQ2+ street preachers Artur & Dawid Pawlowski have been members of the "patriot" scene for years. Recently, the brothers organized the “Jericho Torch March,” a rally that borrowed its promotional images from the deadly Unite the Right protest in Charlottesville.

Livestreamer Mark Friesen is a former PPC candidate & Yellow Vester who continues to livestream. Friesen regularly posts anti-Muslim conspiracy theories based around global plots to sneak in “sharia law.” He has also promoted individuals like white supremacist Stefan Molyneux.

Derek Storie is a far-right content creator who rose to a measure of prominence during the Yellow Vest movement. During one Ontario event, Storie participated in the burning of a Quran with a member of the neo-Nazi Canadian Nationalist Party and the Proud Boys.

Professional troll & racist content creator Kevin Johnston will also be there. His laundry list of problematic endeavours include promotion of hatred charges, punching a grocery store owner, and a still outstanding $2.5M bill for defamation.

They claim to have seen it on @EdmontonAgainst’s feed which they ... didn’t.
Thanks to @JaneQCitizen, Pat King and Jack Shultz are allegedly going.
Jack Shultz previously claimed to be leaving Edmonton in a livestream in which he threatened to kill people he perceives to be pedophiles.

A regular fixture and small-time organizer for protests held by the racist-right in Ontario, Ron Banerjee has come to the fore as the figurehead of racist Hindu nationalism in Canada.

A staple of Ontario's hate movements for years, Banerjee's current goal seems to be to label Sikhs, especially those living in the diaspora, as Khalistani, a term used to denounce Sikhs as being separatists and engaging in acts of terror.

Recently, he posed for photos with attendees at pro-Modi government protests. At another event, Banerjee recorded himself berating a passing group of Sikhs on motorcycles.

#superstraight is the latest in hateful, transphobic, far-right trends to hit the internet intended to cause outrage, harm, and undermine the struggle of the LGBTQ2+ community while seeking mainstream attention.

Coined by a TikTok user, the concept is portrayed as a “new sexuality” that describes straight & cis men & women who are only attracted to biological members of the opposite sex
It’s trans, queer & homophobia with a clear intent to upset, harm, radicalize & get media coverage

It picked up steam & landed where common sense & human decency go to die: 4chan. /pol/ jumped on the idea as a radicalization tool while harming trans & queer folks & added the SS lightning bolts to the flag.

A Florida magistrate judge has decided that Paul Miller will remain in custody leading up to his trial.

Miller's day in court was originally meant to weigh if he'd be held in custody before his trial on the original count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. This stems from an incident in 2018.
As the proceedings got underway, the prosecutor added possession charges for a short barrel rifle & 400+ rounds of ammunition found after his property was raided by the FBI. Parts of the rifle were found hidden in a dryer.
