Do you ever wonder what @jkenney was thinking when he assembled his ragtag caucus? Did he want a bunch of MLAs who aren’t very smart, so they wouldn’t question him, or did he want better but these were the best people willing to align themselves with him? (1/10)
He ended up with a functionally illiterate Education Minister who produced a plagiarized curriculum full of factual errors, while allowing more than half the province’s schools to get #COVID19AB, forcing all the schools to close. (2)
He found a Justice Minister who allowed public health violations to go unchecked for more than a year, and who accused members of the press of wanting to see more people die. (3)
His Associate Minister of Mental Health admitted, on camera, that his party’s plan all along was to push hospitals to the limit, while closing safe consumption sites as he wined and dined ( 🥑 🍷) insiders on the taxpayers’ dime. (4)
He allowed his Minister of Municipal Affairs, who should have been leading our vaccination roll-out, to vacation in Hawaii 🏝 while telling Albertans to #StayHomeStaySafe. (5)
He couldn’t even get Pat Rehn to show up for work. (6)
He lost Tany Yao. (7)
He let his Health Minister wage war against doctors during a deadly global pandemic, culminating in a driveway tantrum (#shantrum?) from which trust could never be restored. (8)
His caucus is full of tinfoil hat COVID deniers like @AngelaPittAB and @Drew__Barnes who have a combined IQ of 17 and would rather see their constituents die than admit that science is real. (9)
Someone, please tell me, is this the @UCPCaucus that @jkenney dreamed of? Is this the party he imagined could boldly lead #ableg to new heights? Or is it just whatever was left on the clearance shelf at MLAs R Us? (10)

Here’s a long 🧵 about some of what bugs me about the proposed #abed Social Studies 6 curriculum.
Remember, the kids learning this stuff are about eleven years old. They like fart jokes. They stick French fries in their nose, and they need help if they think a piece got stuck.
First, they have to learn about religions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam each get their own outcome, with eight, eight and three learning outcomes, respectively. To me, that’s not balanced. 🤔
Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism get lumped together, with three, three and four outcomes each. Sikhism is framed in relation to Christianity, but not vice versa.
So 300+ people have landed on my profile from my last tweet (of which ~250 are probably Issues Managers... 🙄) and I just want to say both HELLO 👋🏼 and that while I may use humor and satire to express my point, I do believe that my expectations are reasonable: (1/4)
I believe that there should be evidence of the public health plan changing in response to changes in the virus and what we know about the virus in our community, and I believe that our elected officials should be communicative, responsive to all stakeholders, and transparent. (2)
I don’t feel that my two reasonable expectations are being met, I’m personally affected by them not being met, and I want better for myself and this province. That’s me in a nutshell. (3)
