A '#Mythbusting' mayhem [Thread]:

Last Friday, 4 June, @NHSDigital removed the “Mythbusting social media posts” box from the top of its main #NationalDataOptOut page:

They also removed...

...the @NHSDigital call centre phone number and replaced it with text directing people to the #NHSapp. (If they tell us what changed, we’ll change our website too – but they’ve not yet asked.)

In the same time frame, they changed the...

...“Read NHS Digital's response to the false information about the national data opt-out” link link on:

nhs.uk/your-nhs-data-…

so that instead of going to the “Mythbusting social media posts about the national data opt-out” page...

...it instead directs to the #GPDPR “Collecting #GPdata - advice for the public” page:

digital.nhs.uk/data-and-infor…

...to which @NHSDigital added a “Redirected users” box at the top of the page.

What this means is – if you follow the link to find out about the “false information about the national data opt-out” – you can no longer find an explanation that relates to that, so...

...there's now even LESS explanation of the text that states, “There is no 30 September deadline for opting out of sharing your data. You can opt out at any time.”

N.B. The same misleading text appears at the top of the #NDOP “Manage your choice” page:

...which again links to the #GPDPR “advice for the public” page🤦‍♂️

And, even if you try to visit the old “Mythbusting social media posts” page directly...

...since 4 June, you are simply redirected to the GPDPR “advice for the public” page again! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

...which means @NHSDigital has (effectively) removed its old ‘mythbusting’ page, but left visitors to its site with an even MORE confusing mess!

QUESTIONS:

1) Where can people now find an(y) explanation of the misleading "30 September deadline" text?

2) Why is there STILL no link to the #Type1 opt-out form from any of the #NationalDataOptOut pages?

(Especially given @NHSDigital disingenuously suggests you can do one "or" the other opt-out, but only the #Type1 will stop your #GPdata from being extracted from 1 July.)

3) Why don’t #Type1 opt-outs have their own page, like the #GPDPR Direction and DPN?
