We need help! Radiation from medical exams may be a major cause of cancer.

THREAD
1/
In 2016 I've discovered while working at the @Inserm (the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research) that mammography screening is a major cause of breast cancer, due to X-ray induced-radiation. I was harassed by the INSERM and lost my permanent position in 2018
2/
I received support from Archie Bleyer, Professor Emeritus at OHSU, and we could publish in the New England of Medicine some data on the consequences of nationwide mammography screening in France and in the USA (Corcos & Bleyer, NEJM, 2020).
3/
We now have large evidence that mammography screening is a major cause of breast cancer in developed countries and that the risks of medical X-rays have been minimized.
4/
We have evidence that the cover-up of the risk of medical radiation is based on denial and harassment rather than scientific arguments.

5/
In addition, the domain of mammography screening is already a battle field between two camps, each one rejecting evidence coming from the other. bmcmedethics.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
6/
The solution provided by radiation-induced cancers has not been understood as a mean to put an end to this debate, because each camp has its own interest in keeping its position, and we have suffered many rejections from partial reviewers for specious reasons.
7/
We wouldn’t like to be in the same situation as Ignaz Semmelweis.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semmelwei…
8/
What we would need is to gather epidemiologists from different fields to co-author a manuscript that we intend to submit to a major (preferably science than medicine) journal in order to alert the people of the risks of mammography screening.
9/
The manuscript will be available upon request.

@RecheckHealth @HealthWatchUK @Lanceursalertes @JouanAnne1 @gijnFr @TranspariMED @stephanehorel

1/

October test (thread) @VPrasadMDMPH @adamcifu @EricTopol @HealthWatchUK
1) Let’s suppose that you screen for cancer people aged 50 to 75 years every 2 years and remove all the cancers you detect for 25 years.
After 25 years of this, in people over 75 years, will you find:
2) Answer: fewer prostate cancers; but more breast cancers.
In 75+ year olds: Corcos & Bleyer, NEJM, 2020
3) Why are there more cancers in old women after mammography screening?

Dépistage mammographique et essais cliniques randomisés.
(Thread)

@GENES_PK
1) BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes code for proteins involved in the repair of double-strand DNA breaks, the damage caused by ionizing radiation, including X-ray. Unfortunately, for BRCA1/2 mutation carriers the NCCN guideline is mammography screening from age 30.
2) This is based on flawed articles suggesting an absence of risk.
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16648044
In this article the bias comes from the selection of index cases.
3) ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25082516
In this one, the no-mammography group is likely to have mammography after genetic diagnosis, and this results in the comparison of prevalent screening to incident screening.
