Hong Kong’s Apple Daily newspaper will cease publication and shut down as of tomorrow, June 24.

Last year, #HongKong journalists told @CPJAsia that Apple Daily would be the first target of Hong Kong's new national security law.

On April 16, a #HongKong court sentenced Hong Kong media owner Jimmy Lai to 14 months in prison.

Lai is the founder of Next Digital Limited, which owns #AppleDaily. He faces charges that could keep him in jail for the rest of his life.
