Indian journalist Anand Teltumbde has faced harassment for his reporting, and has been jailed since April 2020 in retaliation for his journalism.

In 2019, Teltumbde reported WhatsApp had notified him of surveillance attempts via NSO Group technology.

They have not been heard from since.
