#AkhilGogoi, 45, activist MLA, had been jailed for 18 months for allegedly fomenting violence during the anti-CAA protests and maintaining links with #Maoists. On July 1, he was cleared of all charges under the #UAPA.

Australia has for years been battling to keep the Great Barrier Reef off the “in danger” list. On June 22, 2021, a UN committee recommended that the GBR should be added to a list of “in danger” World Heritage Sites.
