Bench questions State on vaccination policy.

Is there any final policy showing preparedness of State to tackle fourth wave? Bench

So far there is no policy to vaccinate people below 18years? : Bench

State: Yes

On preparedness, nothing placed on record: Court

Adv GR Mohan informs Court that colleges reopened in the State but not all are vaccinated

Are you trying to say that special drive should happen for students? Court

Mohan: Yes, all may not be in a position to go to college physically without vaccines

Court: Basically he is saying that more and more people should be vaccinated.

Adv BV Vidyulatha: State should specify what happens to those children who have missed immunisation doses. Two years have passed by. Normally it was done through Anganawadis and schools, which is closed now.

AAG Dhyan Chinnappa: I'll find out

Adv Shridhar Prabhu: Another is extension of interim orders.

Court: Yes, that we are extending. Hopefully for the last time.

Prabhu: Another issue is exorbitant rates for medicines.

ORDER: Number of COVID Cases have drastically come down. We propose to extend interim orders for the last time. We direct that interim directions issued on April 16 and 22 shall continue to operate till August 23. Above directions have been notified in website by registry: Court

Court: State should place before the Court whether any timeline fixed for ensuring that entire population gets vaccinated. State shall respond on this aspect on next date.

Court: How how long will vaccine bodies will last?

As regards immunization to children, written submissions are silent. It is said that immunization is in progress through schools and anganawadis. However, the same is closed now. State to come out with definite measures.

It will appropriate if State sets up grievance redressal mechanism for deciding claims made by such patients for reimbursement, for amount charged by hospitals. Same has to be set up immediately.

State to inform whether any special drive conducted for college students for vaccination as colleges have been opened in the State: Court
