#BREAKING: #MadrasHighCourt strikes down in its entirety the amendment to the Tamil Nadu Gaming Act which banned online games including online rummy and online poker with stakes. #onlinegaming
Court says that by imposing a wide-ranging, complete ban, the amendment has failed the least intrusive test and fallen afoul of Article 19 (1) (g) of the Constitution. Court says the challenged amendment was capricious, irrational, excessive and disproportionate

Court adds that the doctrine of severability is also not applicable since the amended definition of gaming runs throughout the Act. Court concludes the amending Act is disproportionate to the object and ultra vires the Constitution.

Having now spoken to him, we can confirm that a Rajasthan mobile number formerly registered in the name of Arun Mishra J, who retired from SC in Sept 2020, was added to the database in 2019.

HC: People are not asking for exoneration people asking for bail.
ASG: Case has offence under S302 (murder). Ordinarily in a 302 offence bail is not to be granted. It's not a simple case. It is 302. Not a simple but grave offence. #DelhiRiots
