After ~1975, natural grass field was replaced with artificial grass field in #Hockey

Indians were masters playing on natural grass (8 Golds from 1928-80) but new surface favored physical strength over technicalities.

This was done to curb Indian dominance in Hockey.
India in #Hockey

• Gold (8) - 1928, 1932, 1936, 1948, 1952, 1956, 1964, 1980
• Silver (1) - 1960
• Bronze (3) - 1968, 1972, 2021

Degradation from 1976 onwards (Exception 1980) -
• 5th - 1984
• 6th - 1988
• 7th - 1976, 1992, 2000, 2004
• 8th - 1996, 2016
• 12th - 2012
Spot on for 1980 exception. Countries boycotted 1980 Moscow Olympics are highlighted in this #Map.

This is why #India could win Gold in #Hockey in 1980.

This thread is a compilation of writing/threads/tweets on Kautilya's #अर्थशास्त्रम् (Arthashastra).

Thread also includes refutation of propagandas against Kautilya/Arthashastra and topics which are refuted/supported based on Arthashastra.
(1) The very first article I wrote on Kautilya's Arthashastra, also published on @/indictoday

It traces origin-tradition-veneration of Arthashastra as a शास्त्र and later on guiding force for Empires/Kings. It also lists tradition before & after कौटिल्य.
vyasonmukh.in/2021/01/12/art…
(2) Here I refuted one propaganda which says slave (slavery) is found in Arthashastra.

Term used by कौटिल्य is दास which is NOT slave.

Roots of योग are Hindu, not Jain.

Common Sources -
#योगसूत्रम् (पतंजलि) predates any Jain literature (~200 BCE)
• Artifacts in योग positions (Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization) predate any Jain artifact (~4000 BCE/older)
• श्रीकृष्ण (योगेश्वर Master of योग) predates Jainism Image
During time of पतंजलि, writing was already in vogue in #India. Kautilya in #अर्थशास्त्रम् (~350 BCE) has mentioned keeping written records in administration.

It proves oral practice was already ended by that time. It means, Jain sources came later on.
Good to see you agree that Jain literature comes much later than योगसूत्र of Patanjali (~200 BCE)

Also, Kautilya in #अर्थशास्त्रम् (~350 BCE) mentions योग as a mandatory विद्या for a King (Ch. 1)

With time, Jains adopted few योग concepts.

Person doesn't know #History & current affairs is insulting a Dharmik Kshatriya king Jaichand.

• It was Jaichand who built the temple at Ayodhya
• His inscription helped Hindus to win over sullas in Ram Mandir case
• He died fighting against Ghori unlike cowards
Here are evidences on Jaichand which I have referred in tweet above. 👇
And this thread dismantles myths/propaganda about Jaichand. It also mention references praising Jaichand. 👇
