I do not wish COVID on *anyone*

I don’t want anyone to become infected with this horrible virus

But I would certainly prefer staunch anti-vaxxers who will not even have a civil convo be the ones to fall ill over a child who got sick because our governments have failed us.

I’ve lost family to COVID. Death came far too soon. Family & friends have suffered COVID induced stroke, heart attack, and a plethora of other horrible ailments. Some with “very mild” almost asymptomatic cases are experiencing the very real hell of #LongCovid. It’s awful.

My son was born at the outset of the pandemic. Our lives are full of challenges because of this pandemic. I know how hard it is for many. But I can guarantee that it will NOT get better on the course many places are taking. Just look at Florida. The numbers are STAGGERING.

If we unified in our efforts, and would just hold on tight a little while longer, we will see an end sooner than we can expect by being in a rush to be indoors without masks and love pretty much like there is no COVID. We’ll never get to post COVID if we act like we’re there now.

Many of us may be angry and devastated at the morally bankrupt and reckless policy decisions most of our govts are making. To see so-called developed countries use children as fodder for mythical “natural herd immunity” is repugnant.

But politicians do what gets them re-elected.

Because of the corruption and failings of people at the WHO and CDC, TO THIS DAY, most people do not even know how the virus is transmitted. If people knew, there would be no question about masks. None. But from top to bottom, we’ve been lied to and misinformed.

When you don’t know the facts, you can’t understand what needs to be done. And when you don’t understand that you should just paint your own nails for a while instead of having someone else do it, you can’t understand or support other preventative and protective measures.

Initially, the vaccines were touted as a panacea. “The end is on the horizon!” many experts cheered. People believed them. They get vaccinated and think they are safe. They don’t take additional measures they objected to in the first place. And others call it all a hoax.

In entitled societies where people want no impositions on their “freedoms”, where most people simply don’t know the facts (largely because we have been lied to and misinformed), most people want to go back to “life as usual”, and support the govts that will pursue that agenda.

And the people we elect make decisions based on polling figures. If they knew they didn’t stand a chance in hell at getting re-elected without implementing policies that will get us to post-COVID ASAP, even if they didn’t believe in the measures themselves, they’d implement them.

If believe that if we were given the facts, and if governments implemented aggressive campaigns informing people that COVID is AIRBORNE, and all that entails, more people would be receptive to doing everything we need to do to end this hell, not “learn how to live with it”.

It may sound dramatic, but we really don’t know where we will find ourselves in a few months on this current trajectory. We could end up facing a variant for which current vaccines prove ineffective. The situation could become totally catastrophic. It doesn’t need to, but it can.

Everyone with a voice and a platform should be sharing the FACTS about how the virus spreads, how to protect ourselves even after getting vaccinated, etc. They need to be aggressive in getting the message out so there’ll be a shift in thinking, expectation, & demands will change.

We should be able to convince people without shaming and blaming, no matter how angry we feel with them. Many have been easily duped because our governments failed to properly inform us after they were misinformed about what the hell COVID is.

We need to get to a place where anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, anti-protective measures people don’t need to end up hospitalized to learn about what the hell is really going on.

The @WHO and @CDCgov bear a special moral responsibility in helping make things right.

They should be flooding all media with FACTS about COVID. When people become inundated with indisputable facts, the demand for appropriate measures until we get things under control will grow. And we will see the end sooner than we are going to on our current course.
