I recently expressed concern about how many double dose vaccinated people were going back to pre-Covid normal, and were partying it up too much. I got serious shit from a lot of people. Several of the “we need a break from these measures and deserve to relax now” got COVID.
I take zero pleasure in that fact. I share it because they are the same people who, (as I expected) now that they got infected after vaccination, are warning people to “take delay seriously” and “keep wearing a mask even if fully vaxxed” because they didn’t and got sick.
We shouldn’t have to go through this insanity. We need to be adequately informed about what Covid is, how it spreads, what vaccines do, and why we still need the added layer of preventative safety measures like masks for now.
And people need to understand the importance of vaccines even if they’re not the magic bullet. It cannot become fodder for anti vaxxers. Without being properly informed by govts (who are instead putting people - including children - in harms way), most will never know what’s what
I know too many intelligent people who simply don’t know half of what they need to know about Covid. That is a failing of our institutions and our governments. Period. Stop dismissing everyone as plain “stupid”.
