I called Centrelink yesterday to claim the disaster payment for lost work due to the 8 day lockdown in Qld. Apparently my account is locked. My AAT appeal is on 27.08 Friday week. I am busy preparing my brief of evidence for this. This is nasty. @Centrelink #auspol

I am preparing now to visit my local @Centrelink office and apply for three things. 1. Reinstatement of JobSeeker, 2. Low Income Health Care Card, 3. Disaster Payment for loss of work in lockdown as someone not on JobSeeker - even as Indefinitely should still be. #auspol #LNPfail

So, am sitting in the Centrelink office, have been told to wait. They advised they can’t process my claims today as they are too busy. Five visible staff and 22 people waiting. They refused to make an appointment for me to come back. Told to wait instead. #auspol @Centrelink
They just came out and have refused to assist me. I asked them for a letter stating they have denied processing these claims for me. They refused to write that letter. This is absolute rubbish! OMG!

Am getting my friend to write a Statutory Declaration as he witnessed all of this. He is also appalled and shocked they are behaving like this. I warned him, he didn’t believe it would be that bad. It was. He’s shocked and horrified at them. I am too. @Centrelink #shitfuckery

The really interesting part is the man at the counter said he could unlock my account if I was prepared to use MyGov, which I don’t and is anyones right not to. After which, they said they were too busy to process my claim and take my required paperwork. @lindareynoldswa
