MAGAs really believe Biden is cognitively impaired. I used to believe this, too. I am ALWAYS open to changing my mind if presented with new evidence, & that's what happened after election day.

Biden had to run a near-virtual campaign bc he didn't want folk to die from events.

The need to #MaskUp #GetVaccinated and at times avoid large gatherings, to save lives, is not something that stops Donald Trump from doing unconscionable things like holding a rally in Alabama when there are NO spare ICU beds in the entire state.

Biden is not Trump. Thank GOD.

Since right now I'm in lockdown because my country of 5 million people #nzpol has vax rates akin to AL, MS, FL, LA, and TX and is therefore certain to reach the point of #HospitalSystemCollapse like they have or are about to, I'm watching the Southern US with interest.

Seeing that anti-vaxxer in chief Donald Trump had the temerity to hold this rally, in a state he has neglected for the past 4 years, I just kinda shake my head in disbelief. AL Gov Kay Ivey is a fool, and that's something I've noticed over several years.

Gov Kay Ivey (R) wants to have it both ways. She chastises the unvaccinated yet did nothing to stop this rally, when it was well within her power to do so.

Every first responder in AL is stretched to the max because of Covid. Yet they had to show up to police the Trump rally.

I've seen the directors of medicine at these Southern hospitals and health departments and universities go on TV and plead for help - in the form of basic safety precautions like #MaskUp #GetVaccinated and meaningfully socially distance eg cancel super spreader events.

I thank God every single day that Joe Biden won this free and fair election and took over, not a day too soon, in terms of the pandemic response. The number and nature of Trump's utter dereliction of duty in every area of the job will take years to fully record and publish.

Meantime, Biden has to clean up the messes left by a president who encouraged, enabled, & (still) condones the terrorist attack of 1/6, who freed 5,000 Taliban terrorists incl. leader Baradar (rivaling the butchers of Tehran), and who abandoned Afghan translators to their fate.

All things considered, Biden is doing an excellent job repairing the damage wrought by his predecessor. Anyone who thinks Trump got it right and Biden failed in Afghanistan should consider the witness testimony in this thread:

Lives are on the line in the USA, and in every allied country including Australia and New Zealand.

MAGA world knows they don't have any compelling, logical, well-supported arguments to make. All they have are logical fallacies, esp. ad hominem.

Biden is performing the role as a POTUS should. The White House is not a place to provide entertainment, or party conventions, or triumphant "don't let it take over your life" returns from Covid care in hospital.

It is for calm, stable, effective leadership.

Before he won the WH I didn't have a lot of respect for Joe Biden. Within a few weeks he had proven his mettle (to most of us!) I'm not a liberal or on the left. I'm an #XGOP conservative waiting for a political home.

Party politics don't matter. SAVING LIVES matters.
