We're waiting for @JustinTrudeau to show up at an event in a backyard in Surrey this a.m. Protestors outside. Colleagues have identified at least one who followed Liberals from Hamilton Ontario yesterday to Surrey BC today. Would not say if he's w/ an organization. #cdnpoli Image
@JustinTrudeau up now, says it is such a treat to be back in BC, his second home. He's flanked by Gordie Hogg, who is running for Liberals in Surrey South White Rock, currently held by Conservatives. Image
@JustinTrudeau in part reiterating yesterday's housing anno. But also this: raising corporate tax rates on banks, insurance companies on earnings over $1 billion from 15 to 18 per cent.

Now @JustinTrudeau pivoting to vaccines. "My friends you get it why doesn't @erinotoole ?" He praises BC Premier John Horgan on vax passports. BC is returning to an indoor mask mandate today.
Jordan Press asks about retirees relying on profits from big banks. Trudeau repeats banks have continues to post large profits. Protestors outside are now on intercomms.
I asked about how @JustinTrudeau comments yesterday on Taliban needing recognition (food security etc.) different than opening door to negotiations, he reiterated Taliban is terrorist org. and Canada has no intention of recognizing them.
@ICILouisBlouin also asked @JustinTrudeau abt. @MaryamMonsef comments from this a.m. Trudeau reiterated Taliban is a terror org. Said Min. Monsef spoke for herself.
@karinaroman1 asks: @JustinTrudeau often engages w/ protestors, including those opposed to vaccination. Why did he avoid Indigenous women protesting old-growth logging/his record on reconciliation last night?
@JustinTrudeau says elections time to make choices, and a re-elected Liberal gov't would be committed to conserving bio-diversity, reconciliation. Suggests @theJagmeetSingh and BC Premier Horgan (whose vaccine passport efforts he praised min. ago) should be asked 'bout logging.

Protestors again at Trudeau's next event. Supporters here too. Some of the completely illogical screaming: "crimes against humanity," a bunch of swearing.
Yelling at journalists again. We were told we'd burn in hell. #cdnmedia #elxn44
"He's supposed to talk to the people," says one of the protestors, yelling at a police officer.
