Beauport-Limoilou is held by the @BlocQuebecois . Liberals are hoping to take it w/ Ann Gingras, a well-known union veteran in the area.

@JustinTrudeau has arrived, but its neither he or local candidate Ann Gingras who speaks up first, but adjacent Québec riding incumbent @jyduclos , who squeaked by the Bloc for a victory w/ a few hundred votes in 2019. Duclos says he's thrilled Gingras is part of team.

On now, Ann Gingras speaks about her past career w/ CSN. Says her values match up w/ those of Liberal Party.

@JustinTrudeau on now, thanking Gingras for her candidacy and Duclos for his work + responsibilities as president of the Treasury Board while in gov't.

Trudeau--after again asking people to get vaccinated--now talks about how gov't took care of seniors during pandemic. In prepped remarks he attacks Cons, Bloc and NDP for obstructing $500 payment to seniors, acknowledges latter two eventually voted for.

@JustinTrudeau announces old-age top-ups will expand to seniors between 65-74, a demand the @BlocQuebecois had been making for months.

@ICILouisBlouin asks @JustinTrudeau why impose conditions on health care transfer increases to provinces including QC. Does he not trust @francoislegault ? Trudeau says au contraire, work together v. well, points to no-strings-attached childcare anno.
