There is a tendency in Brussels to frame the question of legislating on disinformation as a trade-off between free expression or authoritarian control of our online environment. But there is a middle ground.
Together, we call on MEPs & Member States negotiating the DSA to limit arbitrary actions & inactions by the largest online platforms, ensure stricter transparency measures, and a more flexible provision on data access for accredited researchers. cc @SchaldemoseMEP @cedric_o
Speaking to @clothildegouj for POLITICO EU's Morning Tech, @AAlaphilippe explained: "We are not trying to revolutionise the DSA but we see some precise, nuanced, touch-ups that have the consensus of many actors in the disinformation community."
