#ClimateCrisis has no borders and affects us all. It especially hurts those in poorer countries, which are also the countries that contribute the least to it. The richest 1% produce twice as much carbon emissions as the poorest half of the world’s population. #UprootTheSystem
We are in the loss & Damage era!
Extreme weather, drought and rising seas are now forcing people out of their livelihoods and their homes, and recovering from these disasters is more and more difficult. #COP26#UprootTheSystem
At #COP26 leaders must commit to delivering the 1.5°C goal and their fair share of action. We need to see real plans for fast, deep cuts in emissions and rapid increases in renewable energy, fairly resourced. #GreenNewDealBD#UprootTheSystem#NoMoreEmptyPromise
Fighting #ClimateCrisis and inequality is for everyone. Countries that historically contributed the most to the climate crisis must deliver on their promises and increase finance to affected communities to adapt and address the losses and damages they are already experiencing.
Governments must acknowledge and address the increased risks faced by women & girls on the frontlines of the climate crisis. They must be able to participate so their specific needs are met in climate strategies. Money must go to ensure women and girls enjoy their equal rights.

“We tend to forget, that the 💲100bn [of #ClimateFinace] is an arbitrary figure, that is very far from the needs actually required.” @WAKAEgypt via @WRIClimate on the release of the #IPCC#AR6 WGII report and its #LossAndDamage implications.
"🏴 broke a taboo at #COP26 by committing for the 1st time ever funding to address #LossAndDamage. Wallonia and philanthropies followed suit. We need to keep working to ensure the issue continues to move up the climate agenda" says @NicolaSturgeon 💪💪🏽💪🏿#PayUp4LossAndDamage
“The [IPCC] report gives us a view of the future, of where we are going. With every degree of global warming, we are going to see losses and damages escalate in both human and natural systems.” Debra Roberts of @IPCC_CH. #LossAndDamage
At the #COP26, the leaders of Estonia, Tanzania and Bangladesh were the first to sign the Glasgow Women’s Leadership statement, calling for countries to support the leadership of women and girls on climate action at all levels of society and politics. Continue... #IWD2022#CSW66
#IWD2022 theme “ Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, calls for recognition of the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all.
#CSW66 is yet another opportunity to call all climate actions to recognize the differentiated impact of climate change by age, gender, disability and location. And ensure women's and girls’ voice, agency & their full and effective participation in leadership. #IWD2022
The group wants all countries to agree on radical steps to avoid "climate catastrophe" at the upcoming #COP26.
Green campaigners are urging a postponement of the gathering, citing problems with vaccines for delegates.
@TheCVF says the event is critical and cannot wait.
@TheCVF member states insist the meeting must go ahead in person and are calling for support and "facilitated access" to ensure inclusive participation. Progress on climate change has stalled and #COP26 should move forward with what it terms a "climate emergency pact".
