Have you lost a parent or a sibling? My Mom died December 27, 2000. My Dad died November 3, 2004. Those dates never go by without some big emotion. What about you? Who have you lost whose passing affects you deeply? 2/7
Remember back in 2020? He appeared every. single. day. He had Canadians' backs. It was all a terribly uncertain time and he put himself out there. Part of the time his wife had COVID and was isolating, so he was parenting 3 kids by himself while running the country. 3/7
He doesn't get a lot of family time. Or personal time. Because every time he takes personal time the CPC and the media make it out to be a crime. They are just trolling, looking for gotcha moments. 4/7
Today's news cycle was full. No one would have noticed if the PM had spoken or not. Events across the country, w/ news crews handy. What an ideal day to take a personal moment. Except the opposition and their media aren't even really paying attention to the events of the day 5/7
He pushed this into law. He made a day of contemplation and learning and respect. And then he backed away. Today was not about parties or politicians. It was about people. 6/7
So let us all just be people. David Akin and all those who jumped on the bandwagon, think about why you thought this was newsworthy? Why it was more important than Truth and Reconciliation. You should give that a lot of thought. 7/7
