District #NC09 is 7.7% Native American. Nationally, 2.9% of us are Native American or Alaska Native (alone or combo with another ethnicity). The district was redrawn because of GOP gerrymandering. The GOP has held the district for almost 60 years.
The current Congressman authored the North Carolina "bathroom bill" (2016) requiring transgender people to use public restrooms matching biological sex on birth certificates. The legislature repealed that provision the next year; it cost the state $$$$.

The first #jan6th insurrectionists “to break through the police line” passed up **15 reinforced** windows. Video shows they went straight to a “recessed area on the Senate side of the building [with] two unreinforced windows and two doors with unreinforced glass.”
“They were not the first windows, nor the easiest to reach for [#Jan6th insurrectionists] ... Attackers ran more than 100 feet across a courtyard to reach the covered outdoor entryway” #insidejob
Who knew which windows were reinforced? The three-member Capitol Police Board: the architect of the Capitol, the House sergeant at arms, and the Senate sergeant at arms. @latimes
For posterity:
“Cloudflare senior vice president Dane Knecht notes that #Facebook’s border gateway protocol routes — BGP helps networks pick the best path to deliver internet traffic — have been ‘withdrawn from the internet’.” #Instagram#WhatsApp
.@TheVerge notes that the DNS failure occurred as “Antigone Davis was live on CNBC defending [#facebook] over a whistleblower’s accusations and its handling of research data suggesting #Instagram is harmful to teens.”
Many have noted the coincidental timing with Sunday’s CBS @60Minutes expose/whistleblower
I have ignored the rabid evangelical right. That seems to have been an error. The founders must be spinning.
From @BillKristol :
“watch the video, which I found chilling. In this appeal to “The American Christian Church” … one catches more than a whiff of fascism.”
