I am sick and tired of the right wing fear mongering and their hate of the democrats, immigrants and people of color

They blame ANTIFA, BLM, every night on FOX and every day from Republican representatives

@SpeakerPelosi @POTUS @SenSchumer @StenyHoyer
1/
they call us the radical left all the while it is proven without question it is the Republican who are the radicals they are the ones committing mass murders and violent attacks, they are the ones at the George Floyd marches that instigated violence,
2/
They killed people and they were the ones arrested for those crimes

Even when the Republicans made a savage attack on the capital killing 5 and injuring 120 police officers, Republican members of congress said it was BLM and ANTIFA despite the obvious video evidence and

So, @simonschuster has given Mike Pence a 2-book, multi-million dollar book deal. You know how I feel about this: #NoBookDealsForTraitors.

This is just a bad, bad move on Simon’s part. Let’s talk about why…

(Please like and RT this thread to show your support. Thanks!)
@simonschuster Earlier this year, @simonschuster canceled its contract with the execrable Josh Hawley, saying, in part: “we take seriously our larger public responsibility as citizens, and cannot support Senator Hawley after his role in what became a dangerous threat to our democracy.…”
@simonschuster This applies to Pence, too. Yes, he was a target of the 1/6 mob, but he ironically helped incite it by standing by his boss in the days after the election. As recently as last month, Pence was still promoting #TheBigLie, claiming that there were election irregularities and fraud.

Damn effective move by @senatorjen.

Senate coming back to order now.
.@elenaparent now protesting the lack of fiscal note under OCGA 28-5-49 dealing with financial impact to local governments, not the state government.
The Senate should not ram through an up-or-down vote on a bill that has provisions that haven’t been considered by that body.

They have never once discussed having the general assembly take over the SEB, stripping power from the @GaSecofState; throwing out provisionals; runoffs.

Here we go. SB 202 on the House floor.

Barry Fleming presents the bill, talking about what is new in the bill, focusing on “county accountability.”

GA law already allows for SEB oversight but with judicial oversight. They are trying to grab the power for themselves.
This is current law.

The only reason to change this if you don’t want the judiciary to have independent oversight.

You only change this if you want the General Assembly-dominated State Election Board to be able to act as prosecutor and judge at the same time.
Rep. Oliver talks about the re-inserted the date of birth requirement. Rep. Oliver correctly notes that the federal courts required Gwinnett County to accept ballots with errors and omissions, and reintroduction of this requirement will likely lead to more litigation.

Senate Ethics now about to hear HB 531 in the first of a series of hearings. No external testimony allowed today.

Follow along for commentary. Image
The base bill that is being discussed is HB 531 as passed by the House, and not the draft bills that are floating around.

This is being presented by Rep. Barry Fleming, and described as a way to “improve” election administration.
“Improvements” in in-person voting.

Like prohibiting counties from opening up voting for all weekends?

Talk about double-speak.

.@KimforGeorgia and @senatorjen pointed out yet another problem with the absentee voter ID requirement. A county-registrar issued voter ID does *not* appear to qualify as voter id pursuant to these provisions allowing a voter to provide only a #. County IDs require photocopies
That’s super useful for litigation purposes to have a GOP senator say on the record that the Secretary of State’s responsibility is to implement elections in Georgia.
“Increase in burden on local election offices” is the “justification” for revoking no-excuse absentee ballots.

Of course, county election supervisors all testified to the opposite—that they WANT voters to be able to request absentee ballots if they want.

Of all these bills that will reach the Senate floor for debate and voting, 12 of them are election related.

Follow along for a quick 🧵 to know which ones are common sense, which ones are problematic, and which ones are 💩
SB 62 requires ballots to list the precinct from which it came.

On its face I don’t have any issues with this. Precinct designations are already listed on absentee ballots; this would merely add the precinct name so that more people would understand what they are looking at.
SB 69 revokes automatic voter registration.

I wrote about that here:

Almost missed this one.

Looks like both 241 is back on the table, along with SB 232, which requires a unique identifier on each absentee ballot, destroying anonymity (violating GA constitution) along with photocopies of ID.

🙄 Image
241 was resubmitted and passed withOUT amendment 4.

I have lost track over what amendment 4 is. Image
Now we are talking about tracking numbers.

We do serialize and track information-that we want to be able to trace back to the owner.

A tracking device makes a vote traceable to the voter and violates the GA constitution. Image

Today, I had one of those phone calls that leaves me frustrated.

The caller started with legitimate questions and Virginia's rwcent risk-limiting audit. Then broke into questions of a more conspiratorial nature.
I decided to try to get some answers myself.
1/
"Dominion machines can be connected to the internet."
Virginia law doesn't allow the voting machines to be connected to the internet.
"There's no way you could possibly know that none of them were."
So what proof would satisfy you? What if the machine had a log?
2/
"No. That could have been manipulated when the Chinese hacked in."
So we could get everyone who touched a Dominion machine in a room to tell you they didn't connect a machine to the internet?
"Not likely. I wouldn't believe them."

Fascism isn’t an ideology; the movement itself is not conservatism; it is revolutionary.

Here’s a quote from Stanley Payne’s book, The History of Fascism:
”The nucleus that founded fascism did not stem from the right-wing nationalists, but from the transformation of part of the revolutionary left.”
#Communists #TheBigLie

Isn't it stunning? The history books leave out the why, the who, and how deadly the Marxist ideology truly is.
People correlate fascism with the right-wing because “history” left out the entire truth about Marxism.

It has been pointed out before: the left dominates the education, publishing, and historical sectors.

At noon today, I felt a huge sense of relief, accomplishment, and closure. The #Protect2020 effort we launched alongside 1000s of partners in the election community came to an anti-climatic, yet powerful close. Democracy held, despite efforts to subvert the will of the people.
We all did our part to ensure the 2020 election was as secure as possible. And it was. No Kraken, no zombie dictators, and no widespread fraud. This was a free & fair election. We upheld and defended the Constitution irrespective of political affiliation. Country over party.
It still exhausts me thinking about the collective effort that so many people put into defending democracy across @EACgov, state and local partners rep'd by @NASSorg and @NASEDorg, as well as the Intel Community, @FBI, @US_CYBERCOM, and others.

Enough! Reporters doing it again. Both-sidesing. U enable Trump's propaganda by doing this

Reporter's both-sides question:

"What was your role in what happened at the Capitol?

Proper question:

"Are you going to take responsibility for your role in inciting insurrection?"
The press enabled the storming of the Capitol because they never held GOP accountable for pushing #TheBigLie that election was stolen

I have been yelling about this for months. Starting here where @TerryMoran got it right

But after press returned to form
Not long after Nov 4th press started both-sidesing again. Question Republicans were asked over & over was:

"Do u think Biden won?"

This enabled the coup

The proper question at minimum:

"Why are u enabling this charade? Why are u spreading #TheBigLie?"
