This call comes as governments and corporations at #COP26 unveil “#NetZero” climate pledges, many of which are being used to greenwash climate inaction and justify “business-as-usual” fossil fuel production.

“Climate leadership will not be measured decades from now, but rather by the pace and scale of concrete, near-term actions taken today.”

It's time to invest in #RealZero solutions, no more techno-fixes, geoengineering, carbon markets, or accounting tricks.

In detail, we are calling on governments to:
1⃣ Prohibit new #FossilFuel projects;
2⃣ Protect decision-making from fossil fuel industry lobbyists;
3⃣ Ban fossil fuel advertising & ensure an equitable phase-out of all oil, gas, and coal;
4⃣ Shift to agroecological food systems.

Such solutions are essential to strengthen resilience, #EnvironmentalJustice, support communities in a #JustTransition to a #FossilFreeFuture that secures human rights, livelihoods, work & a safe, clean, healthy, and sustainable environment for present and future generations.

We don't lack real and necessary solutions — only the political will to enact them.
To address the current #ClimateEmergency we need:
🟢 Real plans,
🟢 Real solutions,
🟢 Real finance, and
🟢 #RealZero,
for an urgent #JustTransition. Not tomorrow, NOW.
