The UK Govt is out of control.

They are systematically dismantling every bit of progress generations of British people have won over the last few centuries.

They are deliberately deploying the Fascist playbook, & it's really not funny any more.

Our Govt is pressing ahead with draconian, authoritarian, antidemocratic & anti-British reforms that would make authoritarian dictators blush. These new reforms will increase their power & make it even harder to hold them to account for their constant lies, cheating & corruption.

Any rational person who understands these developments will conclude Britain now has a Government of evil sociopath's, who see voters & human rights merely as obstacles to their absolute power.

This sweeping overhaul of human rights law is “a blatant, unashamed, power grab.”

The imposition of a euphemistically named 'bill of rights' is anything but: it will limit, undermine & withdraw existing hard-won rights, & is described by lawyers as dangerous &, like almost everything the Government does, 'fuelled by political rhetoric' rather than necessity.

“Today’s announcement is being cast as strengthening our rights when in fact, if this plan goes through, they will be fatally weakened. This government is systematically shutting down all avenues of accountability through a succession of rushed & oppressive bills." - Liberty.

"We must ensure the government changes course as a matter of urgency, before we very quickly find ourselves wondering where our fundamental human rights have gone.”

They are completely out of control, & are now 'a clear & present danger' to British democracy & our way of life.

The “aggressive” attempt to “roll-back” laws must be stopped: “If ministers move ahead with plans to water down the Human Rights Act & override judgments with which they disagree, they risk aligning themselves with authoritarian regimes around the world.” - Amnesty International.

"This will mark a further step in the government’s eager embrace of lawlessness, undermining the rights of all individuals, the effective role of British judges & the European court, & the devolution settlement into which the Human Rights Act is embedded.” - Philippe Sands QC.

They are pressing ahead with gerrymandering & abolishing the Electoral Commission - the already largely toothless independent agency that regulates party & election finance & sets standards for how elections should be run.

They are already criminalising our last resort: protest.

They preach 'liberty', but are pressing ahead with the antidemocratic & completely unnecessary introduction of photo ID for elections, which will prevent MILLIONS of poorer voters from participating in democratic elections, despite just *six* cases of voter fraud in 2019.

The cruel & unnecessary Nationality & Borders Bill will criminalise those brave souls helping refugees fleeing horrific situations, allow them to withdraw citizenship from millions of British-born people, & deport them without representation or recourse, without giving a reason.

Be under no illusion: this is *precisely* the authoritarianism that previous generations claimed 'could never happen here' - here in Britain, where millions of decent people gave their lives to defend the rights & democratic principles that our Government of bastards now rips up.

Combine these disturbing developments with their divisive & hateful rhetoric, which demonises minorities, asylum seekers, urban youth, experts, Universities, lawyers & judges, Union organisers & left-wingers & anyone can see the CRYSTAL CLEAR historic parallels with Nazi Germany.

Good people are doing all they can to prevent the Govt from destroying Britain, & the masses are busy dealing with a deadly pandemic, challenging living & working conditions, & totally inadequate support & public services, but the UK Govt is out of control: it has to be stopped.

I appreciate there's a lot of attention-grabbing hyperbolic rhetoric nowadays, but even Winston Churchill & Margaret Thatcher would be turning in their graves if they knew what the present UK Government is doing to British democracy, & to British people. 🇬🇧

Of course, the way had to be paved for this rapid escalation in Britain's antidemocratic authoritarian turn, & this didn't happen overnight.

Accelerated by Brexit, it's taken forty years to finally arrive here.
