Bad product features-Product features that drive the agenda of the product leader and not fulfill the needs/desires of the user. They exist only for optical reasons.

Good product features- Fulfill the needs/desires of the user.

#ProdMgmt #ProductLeadership
One of needs for the users of any #foodtech app would be to not see any variance in the amount to be paid between when the food item is selected versus the amount that is paid finally.
Eliminating this 'unpleasant surprise' is more important than providing discount coupons which most of the times doesn't give the user the feeling that they are saving money in the transaction.

It rather makes the user feel that the company underestimates their intelligence.
If #ecommerce apps like @amazonIN & @Flipkart can achieve this then why not #FoodTech apps like @swiggy_in & @zomato !

It's a matter of time, curiousity & a mindshift for the product leaders.

Have you read the bonus chapter: 'The biology of Bad Behavior' from @JamesClear's bestseller #AtomicHabits?

If not yet then do read it (At the end of the thread I have mentioned how to get access).

Below is a #thread on my key insights/reflections from the chapter:

#Books
Our cravings & desires are influenced by our biology.

There is research data available to prove that exposure to lead (chemical element) had a direct correlation with increased crime rates in US.
Bad habits 'could' be a biological condition and NOT moral failing.

There are some evidences that altering the structure of brain not only ignites our cravings for bad behaviors, but can also eliminate them.

One of the most underrated super power is the ability to 'seek help'!

Seeking 'timely' help from the right people is often not intuitive but most needed! #MentalModel

A 🧵 on why it's hard to 'seek help' and what should you do to 'seek help' easily & more effectively:
'Seeking help' makes us look vulnerable. That's the widely held 'assumption'.

Rather the reframe should be "Seeking help means I have tried or I am trying, AND seeking help now will ensure what I want will be achieved more effectively &/or effectively."
There is 'heroic' associated with NOT seeking help and instead 'struggling'.

The struggle makes the story worthwhile but at the cost of the result u want to achieve.

But every great story must have great supporting characters.

'Allow those supporting characters in ur story'.
