We also tackle critics concerns about selective justice, how this intersects with diplomatic efforts to end #RussianUkrainianWar + more.

<thread> Novel, ground-shifting and workable idea:

International Criminal Tribunal for Crime of Aggression Against #Ukraine

Former Assistant-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs writes that @UN General Assembly and @antonioguterres can establish it👇

2. The International Criminal Court does not have jurisdiction for aggression in this situation. This tribunal would.

It thus supplements and complements ICC Prosecutor @KarimKhanQC's vital work.
3. As an international court - the 'International Criminal Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression Against Ukraine' - would be able to pierce the veil of head of state immunity.

Upshot: Vladimir Putin and top echelon officials could be prosecuted.

<thread> #January6thCommittee's letter to Ivanka Trump signals:

Committee has testimony (via General Kellogg) and docs that point to Trump's illegally pressuring Pence to overturn the election.

Key here: criminal obstruction of 1/6 proceedings for which many have been indicted.
2. The Committee's letter should be read in conjunction with statement made by DOJ attorney in court.
