Or dwarfs.
They strive for knowledge.
While they should actually strive for wisdom first.
In fact, at the very beginning of my academic career, one of my mentors once said a very important sentence to me:

@techforgoodtv 'Mr. Franke, electric cars or technology - that doesn't really interest us. We're interested in the psychology behind both. Because we are scientists - we create knowledge. That is our task.'
In fact, these 3 magic phrases unfold even more power when you enunciate them in German.

science is knowledge creation.
That is:
Science = Wissenschaft
Wissenschaft = to craft / to create knowledge.
