Our Children Should Not Have to Suffer and Die to Pander to the Machismo Fantasies and Cowardly Fears of a Minority.

What I always think of is the analogy with cars.

1/

People don't generally go around committing mass murder with autos. Sure, people get killed in auto accidents, but it is not intentional. And we all *need* autos for daily tasks, errands, and work (unlike guns) ... so if it is an "evil" it is a necessary one ... daily!

Yet, what of cars? We require registration of them, of the driver, licensing, and training. Why are guns exempt from safety concerns? Why? I'll tell you why ... bc of rednecks who need them to feel "manly" (i.e., machismo)...

...and because people have unnecessary fears of the people around them.

Why do I say the root cause of gun worship is machismo and rootless fears? Again, the analogy with cars shows something: Can anyone imagine a society with no driver's licensing, speed limit laws...none of that?

We would have to imagine people getting hurt because some people would abuse the privilege of driving ... drive too fast, recklessly, while drunk, etc. ... & much more, right? They would endanger *other* people's lives with their *ahem* freedom.

If people wanted to introduce laws to regulate such behavior for the safety of us all,do you really think you would have people saying:

"They are coming to take our cars!!!" "We're not allowed to have ANY cars!"

"Cars don't kill people, people do!" “If CARS ARE OUTLAWED only outlaws will have cars!” "Go and fix what's wrong with *society* that *some* people don't drive safely!"

We are talking about safety laws, and they immediately go talking as if we are taking their guns away. They are no more the same than having traffic laws amounts to TAKING ALL CARS AWAY.

So, there is an *insanity* around this gun issue by gun proponents. That is that machismo and cowardice of an exorbitant amount.... a paranoid amount.

And to fix *that* problem, that *insanity*, there is no amount of medication that would work or would be allowed in this society (and should be).

So, THAT, is why gun regulation is the WAY to go in a FREE society.
