Wow, this was just stated by the president of Central African Republic (CAR) presenting how to build his country to become a leader in opportunity and development.
He went on to cite problems such as bureaucracy, corruption, and bank access that crypto and bitcoin can help solve.
This is a head of state championing crypto as "the solution". Many in the West downplay its significance. Prominent critics are calling to even outlaw these technologies. The potential benefit of them, though, are best seen outside the comforts of the developed world.
Apparently, CAR is going to release or create a network called SANGO with its #SangoCoin. This is now introduced by other developers of the project, who also mentioned a metaverse.
"We want to make CAR the crypto hub of Africa."
He goes on to compare themselves to how Dubai developed itself as a hub built on oil.
He mentions building a metaverse, people being able to own virtual real-estate, and tokens backed by real world assets from CAR.
"We want to foster growth for whole region."
New speaker presents about history of humanity, tech, and improved lives--specifically when it comes to supply chains (that blockchain can improve).
They are laying out the case for investing in CAR--and how Sango crypto-based economic system can assist in this initiative.
Wow, next he pitches the idea of a "crypto island" along a large river. A "paradise" where they invite entrepreneurs to build, and where crypto activity is tax-free.
He said they'll create that economic regulatory framework.
A Hennepin County Commissioner was a victim in a string of car-jackings over the weekend.
She went on Facebook to alert the public, and commented on a local crime page to ask for additional support after reporting the crime to police.
But just days earlier...
...this Commissioner reiterated her ongoing support for abolishing the Minneapolis police, a measure being voted on today in the city. Soon after posting, she deleted her Facebook posts.
It's easy to point out issues of integrity here, but the bigger issue isn't...
...about this person. The residents of the county selected her. Minneapolis residents selected all their city council and mayor who've overseen perhaps the largest increase in violent crime ever in the city's history.
Last week I posted something on Facebook that got more engagement than anything I've ever posted.
More than any travel pic, inspirational quote, song/video I like, fish I caught, the drawn-out political opinions, stories of travel adventures from afar, or any of my media work.
All these were outdone by something else--something so basic. And it technically wasn't even a post. I didn't write anything! I just updated my profile status, which automatically generated a post.
On Friday this post simply read "In a Relationship" with a little heart icon.
Some of the people who responded I know very well, some not so much; all took a moment to express their happiness.
There is so much else going on out there in the world, with much of it unprecedented and even eye-popping.
