A thread on fact, myth & knowledge about Proteins (P):

All food or drinks r made up of P, Carbs & Fat
1. What is protein:

This is referred as building blocks of ur body & made up of amino acids.
20 different amino acid combine in various combination to form all kind of protein.
2. How Proteins function in body:

Every cell in our body contains protein so it is very imp.
a. For building and repairing of body tissues protein is required.
b. Enzymes r protein which help in activity such as muscle contractions & relaxation.
c. Protein is alternate src of energy which provide 4 cal per gm of protein.
d. Some proteins are hormones which are chemical messengers b/w cell, tissues and organs.
e. Proteins helps to fight infection in ur body.
Etc.
3. Protein and Amino acids:

a. There are 8 amino acid which are essential and cant be made by our body so need to be given from diet.
b. Ten are non essential amino acid which can be made by our body.
c. Two amino acid are semi essential which need to be consumed from diet in certain circumstances.
4. Protein source can be classified as below:

a. Complete proteins or high quality protein source cotains all 20 amino acid. E.g. milk, meat, eggs, cheese etc.
b. Incomplete protein source lacks at least one amino acid out of 20. E.g. grain, lentils etc.
c. Complementary protein: When two incomplete proteins are mixed then they provide all 20 amino acids. E.g. Bean and rice combination provide all 20 amino acid.
5: Daily Protein requirement:

Everyone should consume atleast 0.8 gm / kg of body weight as per RDA.
If u r involved in some kind of exercise or sports then u should consume 1.4 - 2 gm / kg of body weight. Consuming more than 2 gm / kg is not going to help in any way.
6: Protein sources:

Lentils, Beans, chickpeas, soya chunk, paneer, cheese, whole grains, meat, chicken, eggs etc.
last but not the least it’s whey protein.
7: Myth (M) and some fact (F) about prtoeins:
MYTHS
a. Eating too much protein causes kidney disease.
b. It’s impossible to eat too much protein.
c. Everyone should take protein supplements.
d. Eating less protein will help in loosing weight.
etc.
Interesting Facts

e. U dont need more than 2 gm per kg of body weight protein.
f. Without having protein u can only live for 70 days maximum but without carbs u can survive for lifetime.
g. Protein suppress ur appetite bcz of slow digestion & help in weight loss.
8: Symptoms for protein deficiency:

a. Loss of hair or thinning
b. Loss of muscle mass
c. Growth will be delayed
etc.

Last imp thing is that, anything consuming (Protein) in excess is harmful for ur health.
Try to understand the importance of protein in ur diet & start consuming enough protein. Many of the body problem will be gone after having enough protein in ur diet.

Sleep should be the top element of life whether u r going to gym or not, plz sleep at least for 7-9 hrs daily:

Benefit Of sleep:
-It helps in fat loss
-It helps in muscle growth
-It helps to improve Testosterone level
Short term and long term consequences of not having enough sleep:
-Insulin sensitivity decreases (Cause of diabetes)
-Appetite increases
-Stress increases
-Obesity problem
-Cardio vascular diseases
Etc.
How to improve your sleep:
-Try not to consume caffeine before 5-6 hr of going to bed.
-Try to avoid too much alcohol
-Drug abuse causes sleep problem
-Shift work also cause sleep problem
-Have dark env while sleeping
-Have alarm to go to bed
-Start tracking ur sleep
