Welcome to Wednesday's daily thread on #Russia's attack on #Ukraine.

It's Day 168 of the war, but all the buzz and chat is about what happened yesterday in #Crimea. Here's the link to yesterday's thread.

We are still no nearer knowing the real reason for the devastating blow to #Russia on #Crimea

#Ukraine again denies it's anything to do with them, but no-one believes the RU version of an "accident"

To get an idea of the force of the blasts, watch the last few seconds of this:
13 people are dead after shelling in #Dnipropetrovsk region this morning. 11 more civilians are injured.

12 died when around 40 grads hit the centre of #Maryanets near Nikopol. Two schools and more than 20 high rise apartment blocks were hit.

#RussiaIsATerroristState
It's inescapable to wonder if the shelling of residential areas will increase because of @amnesty's report.

Did the discredited NGO give Putin a war crimes pass?

#SaveUkraine #StopRussia
Explosions in the #Russian city of #Yeysk today too.

As you can see it's the closest city to #Mariupol'. But it's a long way from any #Ukraine positions.

Looks like an oil terminal is on fire.

#StandWithUkraine #StopRussia
#Russia has just admitted 9 planes were destroyed at the #Saki airfield in #Crimea.

That's up from zero yesterday 🤣

I still think it's a lot worse than that for the Terrorist state.

#SlavaUkraini #StopRussia
#Russia's security forces have again raided the home of the Producer who protested against the war on prime time TV.

Marina Ovsyannikova has already been fined several times for "discrediting the army"

#RussiaIsATerroristState
Occupiers in #Kherson have just claimed "The Armed Forces of Ukraine again tried to shell the bridge across the Dnipro near #Kherson, no new damage"

Maybe dreaming again? #Ukraine has been hitting bases but not the bridge
Speaking of #Kherson - partisans are still active.

The Resistance in #Henichesk (RU: #Genichesk) has been active through the night.

#SlavaUkraini #KhersonIsUkraine #RussiansGoHome
#Russia has destroyed another residential building in #Vuhledar this morning. That's about 70km SW of #Donetsk city and near the frontline.

#StandWithUkraine️ #StopRussiaNOW
Britain's intel update is worth reading today.

There's a lot of recruitment desperately going on in #Russia as I've often written about.

But it "won't be decisive" according to London.

#Ukraine #PutinsWar
One of the few remaining honest reporting outfits in #Russia, @novaya_gazeta has been fined 350,000 rubles.

A court in Moscow ruled NG had "disseminated deliberately unreliable socially significant information under the guise of reliable reports"

#StopRussiaNow
The @washingtonpost joins the New York Times in saying #Ukraine WAS responsible for the attack on a Crimean airfield at Saky.

"The attack marks a sharp escalation and demonstrates the ability of UA forces to strike further behind Russian lines than previously thought."
Sorry about the lack of timely updates today - non stop tennis commentary is the reason!

It is a fairly quite day on the battlefield but that still death, destruction and many stories to catch up on.

#Ukraine's says it has downed a Russian attack jet:

facebook.com/NGUmainpage/po…
Today the first video has emerged of the damage #HIMARS caused to the Kakhovka Bridge in #Kherson.

Much focus has been on the Antonivskyi road route over the Dnipro, but this is almost as important by the Hydroelectric power plant.

#StandWithUkraine #StopRussia
Speaking of damage from #HIMARS - I have to wonder if they were really responsible for the immense destruction on #Russia's air base in #Crimea.

The amount of damage became clear today with new satellite photos giving us nice before/after comparisons.

#StopRussiaNOW
More explosions lighting up the night sky in occupied #Donetsk.

This us in Pyvzavod.

#SaveUkraine #StopRussia
Officials in Occupied #Donetsk say one person died and two were injured as a result of the shelling of #Pyvzavod.

The Russians also claim an ammonia pipeline was damaged and advise residents to stay indoors, seal apartments and breathe through gauze moistened with 5% mild acid.
Some significant financial news for #Ukraine today too.

Reuters reports $20 billion of foreign debt the country owes, has been frozen for two years.

With no payments now due on international bonds it means #Ukraine cannot default which would worsen the country's plight.
Supergroup @coldplay invited #Ukraine legend and @okeanelzy frontman @s_vakarchuk to join them on stage in Brussels.

Sviatoslav sang the OE hit "Obiymy" ("Hugs) with the British band.
Another act of sabotage in #Russia

A railway line has been damaged in #Kursk region. It's thought saboteurs tried to blow-up the Lgov-Sudzha line.

Just hours earlier in Kursk, someone tried to blow up a power line 20km from the Kursk nuclear power plant.

This is the start of Tuesday's daily thread, with all the important news from, and relevant to, Ukraine in one handy place.

It's Day 1385 and I've still never missed a day of fact checking, analysing and reporting every aspect of the defence against Russia's illegal war.
Yesterday a lot of talking behind the scenes, but politicians were broadly tight-lipped on progress.

Russia did make more small gains on the frontline, but we also found a cat with burned whiskers + how Russian pilots' head-tennis went disastrously wrong
Pres Zelenskyy's whirlwind tour continues, arriving in Rome this morning to meet the Pope at Castle Gandolfo.

At Villa Barberini, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was welcomed by the vice-regent of the papal household, Augustinian Father Edward Daniang Daleng.

Day 1366 of the war in Europe is the start of two days of mourning in a small city in Ukraine which suffered over 160 killed and injured in a single Russia attack 24 hours ago.

As the war crimes mount, Trump approves a mad-hat simpleton's plan to end the war

Here's THE daily🧵
Here's the link for the start of Wednesday's🧵
I posted 65 stories - that equates to a post every 22 minutes throughout the entire 24 hours.

Psychologically a devastating day for Ukraine. Being murdered by Russia, being abandoned by the USA.

A reminder US officials are in Kyiv, due to meet Zelenskyy, when Ukraine's president knows he will have to tell the Americans to shove the surrender document up Witkoff's "White House pass"

Is Rubio undermining the WH plan?
It's certainly not realistic and without 🇷🇺concessions Image

Welcome to another daily thread covering all the important things happening in Ukraine right now, and therefore by (unwanted association) Russia too.

All things fact checked, analysed and explained.
The news you can rely on, every day, in one place.

It's Day 1361. I'm late!⏰
Well I had a lovely lie-in as, all things considered it was a relatively news-free morning

My "bitter enders" (those who make it through to the very end of the🧵) will know there was a big attack on Dnipro which kept me reporting late.
Missed it? click⬇️
One thing I've had to do is wade through Trump's interview on GB News. It's actually been worthwhile because it's a wonderful example I can use to train what NOT to do!

Main points being:
1'48" to ask a question is dreadful
Such simpering loses all credibility before you begin

The first few hours of Day 1360 of Russia's genocidal war started with Ukrainians in shelters. More innocent lives have been claimed by the Moscow horde.

The west unable or unwilling to stop the slaughter despite 1000s of war crimes.
We're not incapable, must not be unwilling.
One of the heaviest bombardments Kyiv has ever known dominated y'day's thread and the start of today's.

But Ukraine also continues to pick-off financial targets inside Russia

It all made for one of the longest🧵 so far - the least you can do is read it!

I am not starting in Kyiv though, because this Friday morning has already seen more murder and another clear terrorist attack by Russia.

A UAV smashed into the town centre of Chornomorsk, another Black Sea port just south of Odesa

2 dead, 7 injured

Day 1359 of Europe's war.
Welcome to Thursday's daily🧵 with all the important news from Ukraine + Russia, without gratuitous gory bits.

Every single day, without a break for holiday or illness, I've been here using my 🇺🇦experience & sources to fact check everything. Let's Go!
Wednesday's thread saw evidence of:
Long-range strikes by Ukraine
Russia Collapsing
Ukraine tackling a major corruption scandal.

Catch up by clicking, scrolling, then coming back here for today's news!

It remained quiet overnight for most in Ukraine, but this morning at least six people have been injured in a Russian strike in Mykolaiv.

Three of the victims are in a 'serious' condition in hospital after the drone attack.

Hello again, thanks for visiting my Ukraine thread on Day 1353

Views/likes are down on both sites I post on: possible war fatigue

It's exactly what Putin wants from the world - to wear us down so we accept a deal to stop the killing
This will embolden Putin & hasten war v NATO
Here's the link for Thursday's thread.
It was a day which saw Ukraine inflict a fair amount of damage on Russia's energy sector and the crisis is nearing for Putin as it cannot export oil.

The energy crisis for Ukraine is about people surviving winter:
I'll start with the battle for Pokrovsk, as DeepState updated the map 40 mins ago.

Zero change in the lines since yesterday.
That's excellent for Ukraine but I fear the cost.

Of course things constantly change in the grey zone but no breakthrough.
Situation today vs a week ago Image
