Śrāddha karya's are rituals that are performed for the departed ancestors. This is usually done twice a year and tarpana on every amāvāsyā. As the current generation keeps moving away from sampradaya this information is the need of the hour. #AskPanditKatti
sāṃvatsara śrāddha is the annual ritual that is performed for the departed ancestors. Another period of śrāddha is during Pitru Paksha. While sāṃvatsara śrāddha is done for a specific ancestor (father, mother, etc), the Pitru Paksha is done for all elders who have passed away.
There are many teachings as to why śrāddha is required. Manusmriti teaches that one year on earth equals one day of the pirtris. Pinda Dana is done which is nourishment for the pitris. #AskPanditKatti

#Navamsa is a world of knowledge in itself. Navamsa is also called Baghya-Amsa and Dharma-Asma. The dharma bhava is the 9th and the fruits of dharma is the 11th from it. This is the 7th. No wonder elders have taught that blessing of the spouse accelerates #Spirituality.
