Data show that a significant percentage of households are enduring a #CostOfLivingCrisis:

61% of Americans were living paycheck to paycheck in June 2022, up from 55% a year ago.

🔵 1. GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION

Government policies have always played a part in most economic crises, but the level of government interference in the US economy and the private sector over the past several years hasn’t been seen since WWII.

Some of these interventions include, but are not limited to:
- Forced closure of private businesses during pandemic #Lockdowns
- $5 trillion in federal #Stimulus payments
- Use of the Defense Production Act to direct the US energy industry toward so-called #RenewableEnergy

🔵 2. CLIMATE POLICY

US intervention has been strongest in #Energy markets.

The administration relied on $100 billion in subsidies for

- renewables
- executive orders
- use of the Defense Production Act
- administrative actions

against #FossilFuels production.

These include the denial of drilling permits, canceling the Keystone XL pipeline, and the @SECGov's new “Green Accounting” mandate, which forces listed companies to provide audited reports on their carbon dioxide emission and of their suppliers and customers.

Signs of America’s future can be seen in today’s Europe, where #GreenEnergy policies are becoming a priority.

Wholesale electricity prices surged by 1000% in the UK.

Some European countries have begun warning their citizens to prepare for #FuelShortages this winter, including France, Finland, and Germany, the latter of which banned fracking and shut down nuclear plants as part of #GreenEnergy laws’ efforts.
