As he turns 72 today, I ponder on what differentiates PM #Modi the most from his political rivals? On serious reflection, if I were to answer it in a sentence, it is that while his rivals work towards family & self preservation at the cost of national interests,…1/15
Modi is an epitome of self sacrifice and symbolises the true spirit of nationalism and love for countrymen. However, this calls for a detailed explanation, so please allow me to provide a few pointers in this thread:

As soon as he assumed PM office…2/15
he demolished the coterie, monarchy’s self perpetuating tool, comprising of power brokers & rent seekers in the garb of intellectuals, journalists, think tank experts, bureaucrats, historians, authors etc. This resulted in two positive outcomes:…3/15
One, it immediately ended big scale high level corruption, a la, defence deal scams running in hundreds of millions of dollars. It started with the Jeep scandal way back in 1948 and the procession continued right till the end of UPA era with Augusta Westland…4/15
chopper bribery case in 2013, always compromising our armed forces. All these debilitating scams meant that the then UPA govt was left with no money to buy even jackets for our jawans.

Two, it broke the back of Lutyen’s media and it lost its legitimacy….5/15
It had already lost its credibility, before Modi assumed PM office, but had retained its legitimacy, thanks to UPA govt, and hence its ability to peddle fake leftist narrative. Modi ‘deleted’ them from echelons of power, leading to vastly diminishing it’s…6/15
ability to craft any credible narratives. This created space for nationalist & independent media to set hold & prosper. In fact, many Modi supporters lament that he does not have a good communication team but the reason is that he has not created an alternative…7/15
coterie like Nehru-Vadra parivar. Had he done so, it would have smacked of hypocrisy.

Putting personal relations above national interests has been another harmful approach of Congress govts. Be it Nehru, acceding to his faithful friend, Sheikh Abdullah’s…8/15
demand for Art 370, or Indira, besotted as she was by Bhutto, agreeing to return 93000 Pak POWs thereby losing the battle won by our forces in 1971 or Rajiv deciding to look the other way as his friend Farooq prepared the ground for radicalisation of Kashmir leading…9/15
to genocide of Kashmiri Pandits, or all the above tacitly allowing China to nibble away at our land just because it was their ideological sibling! They pursued ‘aman ki asha’ while Pak bled us with a thousand cuts, signed secret deals and strengthening trade…10/15
relations with China while it pursued its predatory policy against Bharat.

Modi has had no such baggage or obligations of personal relationships that weigh on his decisions. For him nation is supreme. While he did hug Shariff but that did not stop him from…11/15
conducting Surgical & Balakot strikes and calling off talks with Pak. He did have tea with Xi at Mamallapuram but that did not deter him from pushing back the Chinese from Doklam & Galwan and hitting their business interest in Bharat.

Modi has…12/15
destroyed ‘crony socialism’ & ushered in true socialism while others only provide lip service. Unmindful of huge electoral risks, he hit hard on black economy, a direct outcome of crony socialism!

His fight against this ‘Nehruvian order’ & demolishing its…13/15
vestiges of Pariwarvaad, nepotism, warped ideology & policies, corruption and his genuine efforts to uphold democratic values while clearly underlining supremacy of national interest is, ironically, what has triggered the desire among opposition to gang up against him….14/15
They tried in 2019 but failed miserably, they are giving a shot again to come together for 2024, from all indications they will bite the dust again, for Modi has the “Bali effect”!

Happy birthday @narendramodi Ji. Wishing you health & victory in all your endeavours!…15/15

Do number of hours you put in define your commitment to your job? Is it how you should look at your job? (A perspective)

As the debate rages on #worklife balance vis a vis commitment to work, which in some sections is also now being equated with the no of hours put in by…1/7
employees, I feel, we are missing the real point that is ‘meaningful work’. On this aspect the following three questions are critical:

1. Are you self #motivated to do what you do?

This has a direct linkage with your #purpose to work. The purpose could be linked to…2/7
personal/family/organisational/societal needs. Without getting into a moral debate on what type of purpose is more appropriate, it really does not matter as long as you have a purpose which motivates you to go to work.

2. Do you like what you do?

This relates to…3/7

Nehru’s legacy:

India’s first working PM (India’s first PM, provisional, was Netaji) Jawaharlal #Nehru , who remained PM of our poverty stricken country for 17 years consecutively, could call to his credit only a single AIIMS, an ISRO, a BARC, a few IITs & a handful…1/9
of money guzzling Public Sector Enterprises (white elephants) to maintain whom Indian tax payers had to pay through their noses. This is the legacy that #Congress party, Gandhis & their acolytes tom-tom about. Is it really worth it, forget bragging about it?? Shameful !!…2/9
A nation neck deep in poverty & illiteracy, in the first 17 plus years were denied food, roads, health, poverty alleviation programmes, housing, toilets, drinking water and electrification. In the name of education, there were these hand full of institutions developed…3/9

This thread is in response to an ex economic advisor who gets all his data from taxi drivers, ex RBI gov who failed miserably & ex FM who successfully did farming worth crores in his kitchen garden, all claiming India is going Sri Lanka way.

Let us review key parameters…1/12
of Bharat’s economic health during times of double global crisis of Pandemic & War!

Inflation: At 7%, Bharat is much better than the west. US at 9.1% and UK at 8.6% have their highest inflation in last 4 decades while India is much lower than the double digit inflation…2/12
during UPA regime. Global factors like rise in global commodity prices, oil price & supply chain issues r main reasons for rise in inflation globally. Another key reason was most nations, especially west, splurged in the name of stimulus packages during pandemic leading to…3/12

Muslim Brotherhood (MB)

Started in Egypt in 1928, it is said that British intelligence had a big hand in promoting it. It’s goal is to have a confederation of states governed by Sharia under a caliphate. Hence, it aims to dislodge established regimes & impose Sharia rule…1/12
It dethroned Egypt govt and ruled for an year before it itself got kicked out & was banned in Egypt. It tried to do the same in Saudi Arabia but were caught & banned in 2014. Hamas is its militant front & it has strong affiliations with Al-Qaeda. MB was one of the big…2/12
instigators of the Arab spring. It spews its venom through Al-Jazeera in Qatar where it has a big base…yes, the same Qatar which internationalized Nupur Sharma issue. However, perhaps it’s biggest support base is Turkey. Even US is said to provide is back room backing to…3/12

My response to below article by @TheJaggi

At the outset I agree with 2 critical aspects he raises:
1. Why haven’t history books changed till date.
2. Free temples (or, in my view, also control places of worship of other religions).

Other than…1/11

swarajyamag.com/politics/nupur…
these 2 substantial points, I disagree with him on 2 key assumptions he makes in the article:

1. Modi needs to communicate better with his party (Nupur/Naveen) & voter base.

It has been clarified by the party today that there were enough warnings given to both but they…2/11
exceeded the brief on multiple occasions. It was clearly communicated to all party officials that on the occasion of 8yrs completion of Modi govt the focus had to be on dvlpmnt & welfare works but these 2 did not heed to advise. Hence, the communication was crystal…3/11

It is regrettable that Raghuram Rajan (RR), Ex Governor RBI, is losing no opportunity trying to derail the India story hence, needs to be rebutted point-wise:

He says India’s ‘anti minority’ image will lead to loss of market.

Facts:….1/8
Record exports 670 billion in FY22 entering the top 10 exporting countries.

Recently, #japan signed up to invest 42 B in next 5 yrs, India signed free trade agreement with #australia set to double trade in next 5 yrs, FTA will be signed with UK before Diwali this year….2/8
& signed whole host of #tech agreements with US in areas ranging from the skies above to the bottom of the seas below.

Indian economy set to grow between 8 to 9 percent this year.

Hence, forget losing, India set to gain market #india hugely in coming years….3/8
