In the latest edition of "What the ***** did @ABDanielleSmith just say?!", we have this hot off the press. When @Albertadoctors asked her how #Alberta will ensure all citizens have access to quality care, we have this quote from her:

Okay let's talk about this Danielle. It will be short and sweet.

1. That's 11 000 physicians total, Family MDs and Specialists. They're not all Family Doctors. So, ya. You googled an answer but didn't think it through. Go back and do your math again.

2. No, every family doctor can NOT have 1500 patients. Patients are too complex and supports for mental health, chronic pain, addictions, etc. are woefully inadequate. 1500 = quick visit medicine, burn out and poor quality of care.

3. We would LOVE to take on more patients but we physically CAN NOT because the supports are not in place to provide us or the patients appropriate care. See #2.

So don't you dare blame us. Go kick rocks Danielle.

4. She then goes on to say she will give our jobs to NPs. Ya ok Danielle, so you're going to hand over this dumpster fire healthcare system to nurses with 2 years of extra training and expect them to handle 1500 people on their own? Newsflash: If we can't do it, they can't

5. A $300 spending account will pay for nothing. Does that even pay for the GST on a psychology assessment for ADHD? Is that equal to an initial physio appt and maybe 2 follow ups? LOL. Oh Danielle. Your silver spoon is hanging out of your mouth, you forgot to spit it out.

5a: Oh btw, that doesn't even cover 2 visits with a Naturopaths, especially if they order the 350 labs they like to test. Did they tell you that before you cooked up this idea and announced it alongside them? Or did they give you a personal discount for your oil of Oregano?

6. And finally we are not GPs. We are Family Physicians. We are SPECIALISTS in Family Medicine. A GP has no specialty training. We did 2 years, on top of 4 years of med school.

Give us the respect we deserve Danielle and refer to us by the proper terms.

For what its worth, I want to give @LeelaAheer @RajanJSaw 👏👏👏 for very well thought out and reasonable answers. They truly indicate they want to work with Family Docs to fix the crisis. @rebeccakschulz came in for a solid 3rd, some ideas need more work but her heart is there

@BrianJeanAB didn't say anything of note, just political speak. He's very good at that. @ToewsforAlberta & @dtloewen haven't shown up yet....?
