Hundreds of new laws in #California, set to go into effect starting Jan. 1, will impact employment, health care, housing, public safety, and consumer protection.

Here’s a look at what to expect in 2023. theepochtimes.com/9-controversia…
1) California’s minimum wage will increase by 50 cents to $15.50 per hour, which will also expand to nearly all workers—regardless of the number of employees at a business. theepochtimes.com/inflation-trig…
2) Under the new “Freedom to Walk Act,” pedestrians will no longer be fined for crossing the street outside of designated intersections or crosswalks unless the person causes a hazard on the street. theepochtimes.com/gov-gavin-news…
3) One new law allows doctors to face discipline for spreading so-called misinformation or disinformation about #COVID19—including information about vaccine effectiveness and untested treatments—and categorizes it as unprofessional conduct. theepochtimes.com/newsom-signs-b…
4) At least 225,000 Californians with prior convictions or arrests will be able to have their records automatically sealed from criminal background checks due to a new law.

There are reportedly around 8 million Californians with criminal records.
5) A new #California law decriminalizes loitering for the intent to engage in sex work prostitution.

Opponents say that the law will place the community at risk by encouraging higher numbers of prostitutes and “Johns” in public. theepochtimes.com/new-california…
6) One new law will prohibit cities from enforcing a minimum number of parking spaces on a development project if the project is located within a half-mile of public transit.

The law was established to support the development of #AffordableHousing.
7) The FAST Recovery Act would set industry-wide minimum standards on wages, working hours, and other conditions to fast-food chains with 100 or more locations nationally.

Opponents argue that the law would lead to higher food prices and job losses. theepochtimes.com/enough-signatu…
8) Starting January, nurse practitioners will be able to perform first-trimester #Abortions without a doctor’s supervision under a new law.
9) A salary transparency law requires companies with more than 15 employees to start including pay scales in their job postings in 2023.

News Analysis🔎Special counsel #JohnDurham has used the #IgorDanchenko trial to make public a number of revelations that cast the entire Trump-Russia collusion narrative in a fresh light. (Thread👇) theepochtimes.com/will-james-com…
Durham revealed that the #FBI offered Steele dossier author Christopher Steele up to $1 million to provide any information, physical evidence, or documentary evidence that could back up the claims.

Despite the huge reward on offer, Steele did not provide any such information.
Crucially, despite Steele’s failure to back up his dossier, a mere 18 days later the #FBI proceeded to obtain a FISA warrant against Trump 2016 presidential campaign adviser @CarterWPage.

In its application to the FISA court, the FBI used the Steele dossier as evidence.
