โ‘  The country was misinformed โ€“ retweet!

Thatโ€™s because, in the 2016 #EUreferendum, the electorate was not sufficiently informed. On the contrary, we were grossly misinformed.
โ‘ก Legally, informed consent means that consent has been given with full knowledge of:

โ–ช the risks involved,
โ–ช the probable consequences,
โ–ช and the alternatives.
โ‘ข During the referendum, we were not fully aware of all the risks of #Brexit.
โ‘ฃ During the referendum who really understood the "probable consequencesโ€ of #Brexit?
โ‘ค During the referendum, we were not told about the different #Brexit alternatives. #Brexiters were only given the option of one meaningless, undefined word: โ€˜Leaveโ€™.
โ‘ฅ This is why, one day, there will have to be a new democratic reconsideration of #Brexit.
โ‘ฆ And when we do get a new vote on #Brexit, we need the people to be properly informed, so that next time they can truly give their INFORMED CONSENT

Only those against #democracy disagree.

โ†’ Proof that voting for Leave was a vote for the unknownโ€ฆ

Hereโ€™s a question for you, I wrote in my report of February 2016: โ€˜๐—ช๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฑ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—ธ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜…๐˜ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ธ๐˜€ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ธ๐—ฒ?โ€™

No, me neither.
But thatโ€™s what those campaigning for Britain to leave the #EU were expecting voters to do โ€“ vote to end our membership of the EU without knowing what weโ€™d have instead.

The problem LEAVERS had is that they simply didnโ€™t know, and for sure they couldnโ€™t agree.
As a result, two rival, irreconcilable โ€˜Leaveโ€™ campaigns were launched in the run-up to the referendum:

#UKIPโ€™s leader, Nigel Farage, supported one (Leave.EU) and @UKIPโ€™s then only MP, Douglas Carswell, supported the other (#VoteLeave).

โ‘  The #EUreferendum was undemocratic. Many people directly affected were denied a vote.

Citizens living in the UK from over 70 nations could vote in the EU referendum, but most citizens living here from the rest of the #EU could not.
โ‘ก Including Britain, 55 countries across the world are members of the #Commonwealth, and all citizens from those countries resident with โ€˜leave-to-remainโ€™ in the UK were granted a vote the #EUreferendum.

They included citizens living here from Australia, Canada, Ghana, India..
โ‘ข Just two #EU countries are members of the #Commonwealth, #Malta and #Cyprus, and citizens from those countries resident in the UK were able to vote in the #EUreferendum.

โ‘  THE TRUTH ABOUT MIGRATION: Britain has more jobs than Britons to fill them. That, in a nutshell, is why we need migrants and millions of them.
โ‘ก The country has a chronic skills shortage and without migrants helping to fill that gap, Britain โ€“ and Britons โ€“ would be poorer.
โ‘ข Currently, Britain has around 860,000 job vacancies, but not enough skilled - or low-skilled - Britons to do them all.

Business Secretary @KwasiKwarteng admitted that the UK signed the #NorthernIrelandprotocol of the #Brexit deal without having any idea how it would work out. Watch and share this 1ยฝ-minute video. Discussion on Facebook: bit.ly/3BvNaR6 LinkedIn: bit.ly/2V8Krw0
On Sky News, Business Secretary @KwasiKwarteng said

โ€œWith the #NorthernIrelandprotocol, obviously nobody had any idea the actual effects of it until we left the #EU"

He added that the government now realises that the deal is not satisfactory โ€œas it isโ€ and wants to renegotiate
Even though the #Brexit deal has only been in operation since 1 January, Business Secretary @KwasiKwarteng said:

โ€œThe #NorthernIrelandprotocol isnโ€™t written in stone. Itโ€™s not something that was going to last forever more. Everybody realised at the time.โ€

Lord @DavidGHFrost isnโ€™t happy with the #NorthernIrelandProtocol that HE negotiated. He wants to โ€œreturn to normalโ€. Isnโ€™t #EU membership โ€œnormalโ€? That avoided ALL the problems Frosty is griping about and it's what he supported BEFORE the #EUReferendum. Watch ยฝ-minute video.
Before the #EUreferendum, the then Mr @DavidGHFrost strongly supported the case for Britain to REMAIN in the #EU. He said then AGAINST #Brexit: โ€œEven the best-case outcome canโ€™t be as good as what we have now.โ€
As for the UK going it alone, @DavidGHFrost said BEFORE the #EUreferendum:

โ€œThe more independent your national trade policy is, the more difficult it is to negotiate completely barrier-free access to any other country.โ€

Yesterday, during a mammoth BBC TV interview, #DominicCummings said that anyone who was sure that #Brexit was a good idea had a screw loose. And then he went on to say that he thought Brexit was a good idea and was pleased that it had happened. Watch and share 1-minute video.
This time last year, #DominicCummings told an unbelieving nation that during the #Covid #lockdown he went for a drive just so he could test his #eyesight. Many of us then thought something was missing. Now we can be sure.
#DominicCummings had a lot to say for himself. But one question #LauraKuenssberg didnโ€™t ask him is if he supports #democracy. Obviously, he doesnโ€™t. He thinks itโ€™s in his gift and power, not ours, not Parliamentโ€™s, to make or break, appoint or unappoint, a Prime Minister.
