Chapter 1: A Fresh Start

The only light of the night came from the moon and stars shining in the sky. The protagonist wandered aimlessly through the forest, consumed by rage and despondency. He was expelled from his kingdom for an offence he never committed: theft.

(3/30)
He had always been an honest man, but the king and his court did not care. They had labelled him a criminal, and he was compelled to abandon his home and everything he knew.

(4/30)
As the night progressed, the protagonist grew weary and sought refuge in the forest. He closed his eyes and laid down on the ground, using his sword as a pillow.

(5/30)
He was surrounded by the sounds of the forest, including the rustling of leaves, the chirping of crickets, and the hooting of an owl. It was tranquil and relaxing, a stark contrast to his chaotic life.

(6/30)
As the protagonist awoke, the first rays of dawn were just penetrating the trees. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked around in an effort to orient himself. At that moment, he noticed a distant glimmer of light.

(7/30)
He rubbed his eyes again, assuming it was a light illusion. When he looked again, however, the light was still present. He experienced a glimmer of optimism and decided to investigate.

(8/30)
As he approached the light, he realized it emanated from a much larger and more prosperous kingdom than the one he was forced to flee. The kingdom was surrounded by massive stone walls, and within those walls was a bustling metropolis.

(9/30)
The protagonist could hardly believe his good fortune; this could be his chance to start over and make something of himself.

(10/30)
He walked through the gates of the kingdom with apprehension and anticipation. A bustling marketplace filled with vendors selling their wares greeted him. He approached a merchant, a plump man with a bushy beard, in an attempt to learn more about the kingdom.

(11/30)
"Good morning, traveller," the merchant greeted with a warm smile. "Why have you come to our kingdom?"

(12/30)
The protagonist lied, "I'm just passing through," to avoid revealing the truth about his past.

(13/30)
"Then you've arrived at the proper location," the merchant said, gesturing around him. "This is the Kingdom of Arden, one of the most populous and prosperous in all of the land. Here, you will find nobles, bishops, princesses, and princes.

(14/30)
It is a place where a man like you could build a prosperous life."

(15/30)
The main character could not believe his ears. This kingdom was exactly what he needed - a place where he could start over, find employment, and perhaps even establish his reputation. He felt hope for the first time in a very long time.

(16/30)
As he walked through the city, its beauty struck him. Tall buildings lined the streets, their balconies overflowing with flowers. The air was filled with the sounds of music and laughter, and the aroma of delicious food wafted on the breeze.

(17/30)
He passed majestic castles with skyward-reaching spires. The kingdom was a colourful tapestry, a celebration of life and joy.

(18/30)
The protagonist explored the city while taking everything in. He could not believe his good fortune. This kingdom appeared to be too good to be true, but he was determined to take full advantage of it.

(19/30)
He was going to start over, build himself a new life, and prove to the world that he was not a thief. This was his opportunity, and he intended to seize it with both hands.

(20/30)
As he continued his explorations, he came upon a tavern, the sounds of revelry emanating into the street. He thought it would be a good idea to get a drink and inquire about opportunities and jobs.

(21/30)
As he entered, he was welcomed by the warm glow of lanterns and the aroma of roasting meat. The tavern was packed with individuals conversing and laughing over ale mugs.

(22/30)
He ordered a drink at the bar in an attempt to blend in with the crowd. He initiated a conversation with the bartender in an effort to learn more about the kingdom and its inhabitants.

(23/30)
The bartender was friendly and talkative, and the protagonist quickly learned that the kingdom was ruled by a just and fair king who was adored by his subjects.

(24/30)
The protagonist also learned that bandits were terrorising the countryside and posing a threat to the kingdom. He listened attentively, sensing that this was his opportunity to prove himself and earn the people's trust.

(25/30)
He asked the bartender if there was anything he could do to assist, and the bartender informed him that the king was offering a substantial reward to anyone who could capture and bring the bandits to justice.

(26/30)
A sense of determination settled over the protagonist. This was his opportunity to prove his innocence and show the world he was not a criminal. After finishing his drink, he exited the bar with his mind already made up.

(27/30)
He would earn the respect of the people and a new life in the Kingdom of Arden by apprehending the bandits and bringing them to justice.

(28/30)
As he walked out into the night, he felt a gust of wind and looked to the sky. Dark clouds obscured the night sky, and thunder echoed throughout the city. It appeared that a storm was brewing, but the protagonist was unconcerned.

(29/30)
He was determined to overcome any obstacles that lay ahead, start a new life, and prove to the world that he was not a thief.
