A @WorkSafeBC #covid19bc claim must demonstrate higher exposure at work vs daily life so you must list exposures from: gym, worship, friends &family. Effectively, by removing #maskmandate , #PHO has undermined *every* WS claim unless we forego ALL socials outside of work 1/

@WorkSafeBC ....Effectively a claim can be denied due to Public health removing public protections &workers who have ANY social life, who does not receive *meds* (paxlovid? few workers eligible) & who does not personally mask up consistently...oh AND family members 2/

@WorkSafeBC So who has a strong claim? A worker with no social life, no children who get symptoms, who goes to no public places without good PPE, whose coworkers actually test for #covid19bc, who has access to a test, who is eligible for medical treatment like paxlovid . Look what PH... 4/

@WorkSafeBC Look what PH did...they essentially externalized the cost of protecting yourself from an *occupational disease* by not requiring protections in public places where people gather & they punish &workers cannot demonstrate almost complete social isolation 5/

@WorkSafeBC Note that if you WORK in a place where people socially gather, you might have a chance to demonstrate higher exposure...only if you & your household document impeccable infection control . This is a public health as individual health: forcing workers to pay for their failure 6/

I filled out the screening #covid19bc WS questionnaire on behalf of FL workers & it demonstrates that they think that the following public health in social places are at higher risk: gyms, sports, pl of worship, anywhere people gather ...those are also #bcpoli #bced workplaces

Worksafe screening tool appears just in time for the highesr risk workers to get their 3rd, 4rth, 5th infection so more #longcovid claims looming. I hope Brendan Sutter filed a claim . His case started in wave 1 but its trajectory is a case study #Canucks 1/

1st, his infection was directly related to poor PH containment of a Whistler outbreak in a public place infecting one of the #canucks & spreading to the whole team 2/

Sutter has #longcovid . He is paying the ultimate price of PH policies. Now,young workers just like him are on their 3rd, 4th, 5th infection,with still no PH protections in public places & the burden of proof placed on them to prove they caught it at work
